Let’s get one thing straight, you can’t spell cozy and Nest in the same sentence and I can say this because this was my second visit to the restaurant. The space is big and the aesthetics are doing what they should but the ambience? Loud! Like, deafening music that makes conversation feel like a shouting match. So if you are thinking about a romantic dinner or intimate vibes this ain’t it.
Now, let’s talk about the food.
My pasta? Tasted good could have been better though. I’ll order it again, if they fix the portion because why am I paying so much for pasta and still hoping I will be full when I am done? Make it make sense.
Then, there’s the fisherman soup my date ordered. Straight up disappointing. It was bland, underwhelming and the fish nearly got me admitted into the hospital the next morning. Good thing I was working from home that day and trust me I wish I was joking because I only had a small portion of the fish and my body reacted that way.
Oh and here’s the kicker- Valet parking is 3k. After I have spent a good chunk eating in your restaurant. Since when did complimentary valet disappear in Lagos?
Overall, service? meh. Food? Could have been better especially because the Amala I had last time was so good which is one of the reasons why I went back. The volume? my gosh, please turn it down. Not everyone likes loud music and you can’t take a one size fit approach to how you treat your customers.
Would I go back again? Maybe because I believe in second chances but I am coming with backup plans, perhaps snacks, uber and zero...
Read moreHad dinner here and it was great. Ambience was amazing and the service was great. Our waiter (Michael) was courteous and wore a smile all through service.
Had the Nest Signature Ofada, the rice was well cooked and the sauce was rich with proteins and an egg. Also had plantain on the side. 7.5/10
Also had the Cajun seared Barracuda with veggies on the side. This came with an option of a side and I chose coconut rice for take out. The fish had a mild umami flavourful, white and flaky. 7/10
The highlight of my meal was the spicy chicken alfredo pasta. I requested penne and a medium heat level, and extra creamy. Delighted that my request was followed to a T! It was spicy, delicious, creamy. 10/10
Dessert was a chocolate mocha. The chocolate cake was fluffy and light and tasted quite rich. The icecream seemed homemade and had a texture I didn’t quite understand. Also not a lot of taste to it. I enjoyed the fresh strawberries and cookie crumble but the icecream/gelato was just a little not to my liking texture wise. 5/10
I had a cocktail called jungle juice which was bursting with flavours of passion fruit and also topped with a passion fruit bit. I liked it even though I’d have enjoyed it if it were a little stronger. 7/10
The strawberry daiquiri was like a strawberry daiquiri. Nothing too excellent about it. 5/10
Overall, a lovely experience. I liked the ambience and service and the food was okay. I’d definitely visit again maybe for their wings and beer, live band or some other special night event...

The ambiance is one of the best in Lagos. Music isn’t too loud, the temperature is just right. The seating is great for singles, couples or a group. There is also outdoor seating available, however, I can’t vouch for the temperature outside as I didn’t sit there.
The restroom is very clean and convenient for use.
The main issue which was a huge blight on so the wonderful things about this place is the service. The servers were quite polite. Our meals came almost 2 hours after the order was placed and one item was not brought until the bill was requested at the end of the meal..a cup of hot chocolate which was lukewarm. There was no communication as to the reason for the delay nor did anyone come to speak to us directly about it until we asked for our meals several times. The tardiness was infuriating. I got to understand from other patrons that they experienced the same thing the day before and today as their drinks were taking too long. Interestingly, we ordered from the breakfast menu which makes me wonder if we might have spent double the time if we had ordered any other meal.
The meal was nice, however, the experience dampened the mood and it was hard to enjoy. There were no real apologies made, just mumbled apologies and shuffling off.
Frankly, I wouldn’t go back. Not...
