Boemska Kafeana — Restaurant in Municipality of Centar

I recently visited Boemska Kafeana in Skopje, Macedonia and I must say I had a fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cozy and authentic atmosphere. The decor is a mix of vintage and modern, which creates a unique and charming ambiance.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly, providing excellent service throughout my visit. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. The food was outstanding, with a range of dishes that offer something for everyone. The portions were generous and the presentation was beautiful.

Very bad experience with this place. We arrived early evening, we sat at a table and were greeted by a waiter, who clearly understood we were not locals. After that, no service whatsoever, not even handing out the menus. Instead, another waiter came after 20 minutes of being totally ignored and casually informed us that we could not sit at the (unoccupied) table, because it was "reserved". We said that there was no reservation sign and nobody had told us anything about the table not being available when we first arrived, and he just shrugged it off. We asked if there was any other table available and he said that there were no tables available, even though around us there were tables where people were paying their bills and getting ready to go. It was obvious to us that they did not want our business because we were not locals, so we left, deeply offended by the whole charade. Terrible experience, I hope that they think twice before they act like this to...

The only positive thing was when we arrived they set up a table just for us and were accommodating when we wanted to move from inside to outside. The food was okay even though the sausage was a bit raw but the other barbecue that we ordered was good. We ordered 1 portion of French fries (on the bill it was put as 2 portions) and 1 portion of sheep's cheese, but we never got them and they were still on the bill. The waiter then mixed up the bills and got us a bill from the table that just got seated. Honestly, it was much better when it was the old Kancelarija. Never going back...
