Amici Miei — Restaurant in Bergen

It’s a cozy and welcoming restaurant and I personally prefer the seating area on the ground floor rather than the basement, which feels a bit more bright and vibrant. The menu offers a small but focused selection of antipasti, primi, and secondi, though I wish there were a few more options for wines by the glass. We shared the Italian-style vegetables to start, which were fine. For the main course, we went with the ossobuco, a dish you don’t often find in Italian restaurants in Bergen, so I was hoping for a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet expectations. The presentation and side composition (watery sauce together with salad and mashed potatoes) felt underwhelming, particularly given the price.The staff was friendly and attentive, though service was a bit slow but understandable since we arrived during the Saturday dinner rush. Overall, Amici Miei is a nice place for a casual Italian evening in Bergen, but the food presentation and menu balance could use some refinement to match the cozy...

I put a request in for a table for 8 at 8:45pm after getting checked into our hotel late in the day and they called me back immediately and said yes they had a table. When we arrived they were welcoming even though it was a large party and they were close to closing for the night. The chef came out and told us about the food choices and interacted with the kids very enthusiastically. It was clear he enjoyed owning the place and telling us about his history in Bergen.

On top of that the food was amazing. The porcini ravioli with truffle was the star but everyone enjoyed their respective dishes and the desserts...

Good food, great place, cozy vibe, looks like an expensive place, but its not overpriced. Meals for around 250kr. Italian owner who likes to greet his own guests and knows the regulars. The "TAGLIATELLE AL TARTUFOKR.220,- Smal båndspagetti med trøffelsaus. " was our favorite, but the "RISOTTO VENERE CON SCAMPIKR. 230,-Carnaroli ris med scampi" was also very good. Would say the portions are kind of small, but the dishes fills you up. And they serve amazing warm bread...
