Such a horrible and humiliating experience... We were so excited to have an Indian meal, but the arrogance and sheer incompetence of a bearded waiter, possibly Azeem or Nazeem ruined it for us. Such wait staff will do no good to the reputation of the restaurant. To start, we were ushered in by a lovely girl and seated at a table for two, after quite a while, I literally had to wave to a waiter for our order. We ordered Paneer Lababdar and two plain nans. After a good 40 minutes of waiting we noticed all guests who had come after us had been served and there still wasn’t a sign of our food. I walked to the counter and asked the girl, she said she’ll just look into it. 5 minutes later a bowl of plain rice arrived, I told her it wasn’t our order, she said it was part of our dish. After about 10 minutes the paneer arrived, still no sign of the naans… the food was getting cold. I began to lose my patience and decided to leave as it was humiliating just sitting there, while all other guests who had arrived after us were mid way through their meals! I thought of letting the staff know we were leaving as we were grossly disappointed by the service provided to us. The lovely girl at the counter started apologising and requesting us to stay, but the bearded boy was so arrogant and rude and said, give us a bad review if you want!” No apologies as it wasn’t his businessand he cared nothing about the guests! When I said it was disappointing as we were going to pay for a service, the guy turned around and said you don’t pay me!!! Never going there again, a beautiful evening in Bergen turned really sour for us! But I must acknowledge the lovely girl with glasses came right out cajoling us to come back in and apologising for the rude boys behaviour. I felt so sorry for her. The owner must give her a raise and warn this awful...
Read moreTalking about food : this is worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. I am a tourist and when I visited Bergen with my family I wanted to find an Indian restaurant for a good dining experience and when googled it up, this came up. We ordered chicken biryani , garlic naan and shrimp tikka masala . I guess the chef made everything in a stale tomato masala mixed with sour yogurt . Shrimp Tikka masala was like tomato curry sprinkled with a few shrimps . Tasted the worst . Biryani could have been better called chicken over stale tomato rice with a taste of sour yogurt. And naan was again made with flour soaked in sour yogurt. It was the most horrible experience I ever had . I had my lunch at around 12:30- 1 pm .By the time it was 5 pm my stomach was totally upset due to food poisoning. I had a flight to catch and I was in a very bad state . Talking about service after being seated we were asked to choose from the menu and when ordered the food was served after 15-20 mins even though there was only 1 family other than ourselves in the whole restaurant. And the check was never got to us inspite of asking for it 4-5 times . The lady behind the service desk went away somewhere and they were no other servers . The ambience was ok but other than that there was nothing worth visiting this restaurant. I’m not sure who rated this restaurant 4+ but had there been a zero or a negative rating I would have given it. And please the restaurant owner if you want to save it please fire the chef first . A novice chef will cook thousand times better food .
FINALLY MY ADVICE —- PLEASE DO NOT EAT FROM THIS...
Read moreGuys anyone with dietary restrictions and a vegetarian plz be very careful before stepping in you might have a plate full of surprises.
I visiting this restaurant had a deeply distressing experience at Namaste Bergen on July 8, 2025. I had gone there with my family and kids for dinner, expecting a pleasant meal at a reputed restaurant. Unfortunately, what I received was a severe mistake that has left me both upset and offended.
As a strict vegetarian, I ordered a vegetarian dish with Paneer full clarity and confirmation. To my absolute shock, I was served non-vegetarian food instead with chicken pieces in it along with paneer. This isn’t just a simple mix-up – it is a serious violation of trust, especially for those of us who follow a vegetarian diet for religious, moral, or health reasons.
What made matters even worse was the completely unacceptable response from the staff. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and offering a sincere apology, they argued and dismissed the seriousness of the situation, saying, “What happens if you eat it?”
This shows a complete lack of respect and insensitivity toward customers’ dietary restrictions. I am deeply hurt by this and it has caused significant emotional distress, especially since I was with my family and young kids.
I demand a formal apology from the restaurant and a full refund for this incident. The way this situation was handled is unprofessional and unacceptable, and I hope others take caution before dining here, particularly if they have specific dietary needs.
Namaste Bergen – you owe your...
