Open in September, but otherwise disappointing.

It’s low season (early September) and it’s a little difficult to find an open restaurant here now. This was conveniently opened (as opposed to Underhuset, which is where we originally wanted to eat) and had a nice, cozy vibe but otherwise not much else going for it.

The waiter was nice and friendly to begin with and panicked a little when we asked if they did child portions (we have a 2 year old) but quickly asked what we wanted and said it would be no problem. Good start, but no follow through.

We waited around 40 minutes, even though there was nobody else waiting for food, except for a couple who had arrived after us. So, that was a bit annoying, considered that the place was basically empty and we had a 2 year old to keep entertained (thankfully, he’s been a very good sport!).

The food finally arrived. We had hamburger, fish soup and the salmon (child portion in theory). The soup was lovely, the hamburger was mediocre (and the hamburger was actually half the size of its bread!!) while the salmon was a good dish, but obviously not a child portion! My son ate some, but we had to finish it as it was too much for him.

The worst thing for me is that the waiter didn’t say anything about getting the portion wrong when he brought it to us and he even charged us for the regular adult portion without any apologies or anything at all (since we had after all ordered a child portion, not an adult one!!).

I’m just docked at the lack of service and attention, since there were 5 people in the whole place! He should not have said that a child/half portion was ok, only to forget it a minute later! This to me is really terrible customer service!

Would definitely NOT...

Tapperiet in Reine is a charming little pub that offers delicious food, great drinks, and a cozy atmosphere. The location of the pub is ideal, as it is situated just a stone's throw away from the waterfront and surrounded by beautiful mountains and fjords. It's the perfect place to unwind and relax while taking in the stunning views of the Norwegian landscape.

The food at Tapperiet is fantastic, and visitors can expect to find a menu that features a range of delicious dishes that are prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The fish dishes are particularly noteworthy, as the fish is caught right off the coast and cooked to perfection. The pub also offers a range of vegetarian and meat dishes, so there is something for everyone.

The drinks selection at Tapperiet is impressive, with a wide range of beers, wines, and cocktails to choose from. The bartenders are knowledgeable and can offer recommendations based on your preferences. The pub also has a great selection of local beers, which is ideal for those who want to taste the local flavors.

The atmosphere at Tapperiet is warm and welcoming, with a cozy interior that is decorated in a rustic style. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they are always willing to help visitors have a great experience. The outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying the beautiful scenery and fresh air.

Overall, Tapperiet in Reine is a great place to visit for delicious food, great drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere. The pub's location is stunning, and the cozy interior and friendly staff make it a perfect spot to unwind after a long day of exploring the Norwegian...

We were here in April, off season.

Location feels cozy but is also rather small. There were only two other tables occupied and I expect it to get very loud when all tables are talking. The waitress was nice and spoke perfect English.

The menu is not that big; it contains of 5 different dishes and a selection of pizzas. No starters, no dessert. When we asked about the catch of the day they told us that 3 out of the 5 dishes were out - so we ordered pizza. A little bummer as the other two dishes didn’t sound that nice.

The pizza was American style, you choose between 30 and 40 cm (12 and 16 inch) and they were pretty good.

Service was okay-ish, the whole thing seams to have been run by 1 person.

Pricing was very reasonable and below what most other places in the area charged. I paid for a beer and pizza 300 NOK, tip included.

The price point is what definitely makes up for the lacking menu choice and...

Do not try to come here in winter. We called and asked if they were open days ago. We walked AN HOUR in the cold to get here and they said they were closed for a party suddenly. Didn't even let us come in to get warm with our child. Very unfriendly, especially considering they know there are no other restaurants in the area. We were really looking forward to a nice meal and ended up having to eat at a gas station because THERE IS NOTHING ELSE in the area. You can see the quality of kindness in the response from the "CEO" below. Just call yourself the owner ffs. Your staff gave us misinformation and because of it we made an effort to come there. We got there and we're not even given an apology. Lol and if you think a gas station is "cozy" you've been living on that island for too long. So yes it was your fault. Incredibly rude.

Finding some restaurant, cafe is rare in Lofoten specially in south Lofoten. Reine looks like center for south Lofoten and this place is exactly at the bus stop. Food on Menu was awesome as per Norwegian taste. The Best part is Pizzas are available including one vegetarian variety, apart from other 4 styles. Beverages are available in different kinds. Whole Lofoten has kind of a rule of not drinking alcohols outside. Both outdoor and indoor sittings available. The staff are nice and speak fluent English. Overall, best stop after a hike or tired day.
