I like Brewdog and have been to the quizzes before, and have brought a lot of friends with me. And I think it’s awesome that they have so many veggie options.

But—and this is going to be one of those reviews where the staff behavior was so inappropriate that I’m not confident that they won’t lie in their response—I had a pretty awful experience at lunch today.

So I ordered a fried chicken sandwich. It came out, and it was clearly burnt—like black peaking trough cracks throughout the sandwich. I tried a piece to make sure I wasn’t being unfair, but the flavor was bitter and charred.

It took a bit for the sandwich to arrive. Not a big deal, but I didn’t really want to wait that long again for another sandwich. So I did the American thing and asked for a refund, which I really hate doing. But I wasn’t going to eat burnt food. Not food I paid 200 NOK for.

The cook came out himself to process the refund. Probably awkward for him, definitely awkward for me. He stormed out, slamming doors, then was super defensive and aggressive. He wanted to make sure I knew that he definitely fried it for 7 minutes—which may in fact be the case, but time isn’t the only factor when frying chicken, right?

In any case, it clearly was burnt and dude starting lying about it and was really inappropriate in how he engaged with me.

I’m guessing this was some sort of situation where the managers were gone in the daytime and the kids were running the show. I don’t want to be that guy and say I won’t come back. But this definitely wasn’t ok, and it’s not like I have to come back, even if I normally like Brew Dog.

In any case, I definitely don’t want to come back if that cook is going to be there.

I don’t know, I guess I’m just...

I like this bar alot. Their beer selection is great, and I've always liked coming here. However...

Wings Wednesday isn't worth it. Spend your wednesdays doing something else. You get served at an annoyingly slow pace. After your initial serving of 10 wings, you get only 5 wings at the time, and have to wait about 30 minutes between each serving. If you try to amend this by ordering a new serving at the same time as you are served the current one, you are treated like a child and told to finish your serving before being able to order a new one. To quote Ron Swanson; I know what I'm about, son.

They claimed that the serving speed was because of "kitchen problems", but I see from other reviews that my suspicions are true: This is a concious strategy.

I'm sympathetic to the fact that they might try to limit food waste by not serving people more than they can eat. This was however something completely different. This was clearly a strategy rigged towards minimizing peoples consumption. Which is a good way to save expenses, so good strategy. Also a good way to reduce the amount of customers. Which in it self saves interior wear, toilet paper etc. Doesn't bring in a lot of money though.

The whole experience annoyed me so much that I got extra annoyed from being annoyed at something as trivial as this.

To be fair, the wings were delicious. Wish I could have had a sufficient...

Absolutely the worst experience we’ve had anywhere abroad. Three Americans walked in looking to enjoy a beer and some pub food — nothing complicated. Instead, we were greeted by an aggressively rude staff member (green hair, loud attitude) who told us we needed a reservation, despite the place being nearly empty. She spoke to us like we were beneath her, and the hostility was undeniable. It felt less like a policy issue and more like straight-up discrimination — we got the strong sense she just didn’t like Americans.

To top it off, the bathroom was disgusting — filthy and covered in offensive graffiti, including anti-American and antisemitic messages. How a place like this operates without shame is beyond me. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being insulted...

When I asked about if we can bring our dogs, they told me that they're the most dogfriendly place in Oslo and they were right! The pups had their own burger and beer which was a super nice plus! (Although I would reconsider at least the tomato in the puppy burger and would either skip it or exchange it to cooked sweet potato or a piece of cheddar cheese, because tomato in larger amount can be poisonous for dogs. Also I would consider a grain-free bun, there are so many better possibilities for pups!) :) But all in all, the doggos loved it. The humam food was nice too, we had very good burgers and they had a good variety of beers. We had a very good night, would recommend to anyone, specially for those who want to go with a pup. :)

This company uses a manipilative design (dark pattern) to trick their customers into overpaying. Tipping in a bar is not expected in Norway and will only occur if service is exceptional. BrewDog uses a machine that makes it hard to find the option to pay for what you ordered. Two buttons say tip 10 or 15 percent and a large button says pay XX NOK. The large button is for tipping 12.5 percent, yet it seems to be the default of just paying what you owe. Hidden as tiny text is the option to pay without a tip. Not easy to spot for visually impaired or drunk people. Please stay away from this place for using scammy, manipulative methods.

Great craftbeer bar in the heart of Grünerløkka. Good food, a vast selection of Brewdog beer and exciting guest beers. I am especially fan of their chili based dishes and their Sunday roasts. Quiz every Tuesday and special events for Equity for Punks (Google it) makes BD57 a must visit every time I'm in Oslo. If you're new to craft beer start easy with Punk IPA or Elvis Juice and work your way up from there but never start with Jack Hammer. Why you say? Well you'll figure it out eventually 😉
