Delicatessen Grünerløkka — Restaurant in Oslo

One a few in the chain that was near our hotel at the Central train station, with good reviews on travel blogs we decided to check it out.

The Spanish feel was clearly present with the dark and woody decor complemented with bright and lively paintings on the walls.

Service was quick and we were led to our table within minutes (we did arrive rather late at 9pm) as there wasn't a crowd.

Although there was no English menu, the staff kindly assisted by helping to translate and also answer our questions.

We tried the fried peppers, king prawns, Serrano ham, and the sliders (I forget the name ). All were executed well, but what stole the show for me were the sliders ! The server explained that the meat was 60% pork/40% beef ... Which explained why the patty was so tender and juicy! Topped with caramelised onions in a small package, it was absolutely fabulous. It might have been the best beef/pork sliders I have ever tried. The meat was clearly made in house, as there was a small chunk of bone in the first one.

Service was prompt and efficient, and the gentleman that seated us and closed our bill for our table was particularly friendly and helpful with information.

It was a pricey meal as tapas doesn't get you full or satisfied at a low cost, but it certainly was a great experience. For the 2 of us, it came up to 750NOK, with 3 glasses of wine.

Worth a visit, especially if you have a craving for Spanish food.

My friend who is local in Oslo. She recommended me as American guest to dine with her at this Delicatessen Tapas Grunerlok...Their meals were impressive but their customer service and attitude left poor impression. The male waiter interrupted our conversation and our dinner. He cleaned up a table then took and took our wine glasses with his dirty hands during our dinner time. We did not appreciate that because he interrupted our chat and dinner. We paid for drinks and male waiter took and ruined our dinner. He did clean up our dining table and removed my glass pf cocktail witout our permission and approval. Everyone witnessed the waiter impolite immature behavior and we were shocked. At the scene we saw their mentality is old fashioned with old stereotypes because they do not respect themselves and do not welcome underrepresented minority because we are hearing impaired. Fortunately, the rude blatant waiter and his offensive manager are stuck in Norway because they like to discriminate and offend anyone that is not acceptable and illegal practice in USA. We do not need that kinda of these people in North America and we as Americans will not allow these blatant disrespectful impolite waiters and their managers in our American country where our laws are established very well to protect our diversity and underrepresented minority from...

Had to wait for a table for lunch, so I went to the bar and asked for a glass of wine to drink until the table was ready. Barkeeper looked up and down at me and ignored to take my order. Surprised about his behavior I tried to get his attention again, but he ignored me again. I asked to see the manager and his first words to me were, that he is the manager and he would not serve me!!! I was completely taken aback and asked for an explanation, which he refused. I left and refuse to go back, since the near neighborhood is full with lots of other bars and restaurants serving tasty food that are not run by arrogant staff misbehaving to customers, that it is easy to find better...
