Perhaps we just got particularly unlucky, but I would recommend avoiding this hotel. Their online booking system failed, so our card was charged but they could not find the booking, and by the time the refund cleared and we re-booked, the exchange rate had changed and it cost us substantially more - for their error. Then when we arrived, the TV in the room wouldn't work. We mentioned it to reception on the middle of the first day, and they promised to reset it. We returned that evening to find that nothing had changed, and we couldn't actually turn it off. The backlight on the TV stayed on all night, as neither the remotwe control or the physical power button would switch it off, and we had to hang coats on the TV to try and cover the light so we could sleep. We reported it again the next morning, and returned 12 hours later from a day of exploring Oslo to find that again, nothing had changed. We tried to call reception from the room but the phone would not work, so we went down and spoke to reception in person. One member offered a room change but her colleague told her they were fully booked. She then recommended cycling power to the TV but we (and her colleague) told her it was almost impossible to access the back of the TV without removing it from the wall, which wasn't possible without a screwdriver to unlock the bracket. We asked if we could get a drink from the bar and take it to our room, given that we couldn't use the phone to order room service, and the reception staff said yes. The bar staff then told us no, we couldn't take alcohol to our rooms, that the reception staff simply didn't know the rules, and that we had to use room service for alcoholic drinks (and then explained the same thing to the reception staff). We skipped the drink. They called a room service member, who was able to get the phone working, but couldn't fix the TV. She mentioned that she'd call down to reception to let them know she'd been unable to fix it, and we expected to hear confirmation that they'd send security/maintenance. 20 minutes later and nothing heard, we finally managed to get the power cable unplugged from the back of the TV, so at least we knew we'd be able to sleep without having to cover it with coats again. We plugged the power back in and the TV worked properly, but no longer had access to the Chromecast or TV channels. THEN an older gentleman turned up at the door, admonished us for unplugging the TV (saying it was mounted that way for a reason) - despite reception staff explicitly telling us to do so - and saying that because of our actions, the TV could no longer be seen by the system and there was nothing he could do about it. I said I'd go ahead and unplug it again so at least we could sleep, and he simply smiled and nodded. We stared at each other for a second, after which he apologised for the inconvence. When I said it was the second night without TV access and it was really poor service, he smiled again and bid me goodnight. Aside from the poor service, the bathroom is literally falling apart, and I wouldn't be surprised if the fire sprinkler was seized shut. The gym is excellent and the views from both it and the restaurant/bar are spectacular, but I'd still recommend avoiding this hotel.

This can be rated towards 3.8 if having that choice given the balance of price / location / service. Good things: Sauna and pool facilities are good additions to the hotel as a overall experience. Location is very convenient for either train commuter or airport commuter. Room size is okay even with an extra bed. Areas for improvement Crowded and under staffed. The hotel deals with way too many customers than it can. We had to have waited 10mins+ at the front desk for check in because the queue was just crazy during peak hours. There are only 2 staff for normal guests without the priority pass. Sometimes the luggage receptionist was not there and we had to grab people from the busy reception. It was just a lot hassle. Breakfast. Again the area was not big enough to host such a big hotel. Very busy during peak time. The hotel asked to group you into different time slot for breakfast. I was not too impressed for this. We are on holiday and we should have the choice of choosing which time to have breakfast rather than being pressured to squeeze our timeschedule around the hotel's. Also, we were asked to decide the breakfast preferred time at check in, for ALL THE DAYS that we are staying. It's just a lot decision to make on arrival... Mini bar. This was the worst experience so far with this hotel. The mini bar fridge is not simply a fridge. It has auto weighing system. As soon as there are movements in the mini bar, charges apply. I.e. the hotel had this system installed to make their counting life easier. However this doesn't really work for families with young kids. Kids would touch anything everything without telling the parents sometimes. We had to go down again to the reception to ask the charges to be removed before we get charged...Also not having a fridge in the room is just NOT GOOD ENOUGH. people would want to buy a few things from the supermarket and keep it chilled but with this hotel, you just don't have this option. Location of the sauna, pool. You have to change lift if living on some floors.. and after reachighn 32nd floor, you will have to CLIMB UP A SPIRAL STAIRCASES. It's very dangerous, with wet bodies etc... also if you are taking children.. Just need to be super cautious

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Plaza in Oslo and, unfortunately, left feeling quite underwhelmed. The exterior of the hotel made a very poor first impression—littered and unkempt, which didn’t exactly set the tone we were hoping for.||Check-in, to be fair, was smooth and efficient, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated being able to check in early as Radisson members. The modern lift system was interesting—you scan your card and it assigns you a lift. While it worked fine for accessing our room, it became needlessly complicated when trying to use the spa, gym, or bars, as navigating between floors required changing lift banks and multiple keycard accesses.||Our room itself was the highlight of the stay. It was spacious, immaculately clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable with soft, quality linen. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, which might not suit everyone, and I struggled to regulate the temperature—either scalding hot or freezing cold. The toilet is also difficult to flush if you have long nails! I had to use the tube of conditioner as a tool to press the button in- don’t ask! Toiletries and extras like a sewing kit and shoe shine were provided, though oddly, no milk or tea bags, which was disappointing. The minibar was also chargeable. No drinking water provided in the rooms.||Around the hotel, we noticed lots of steps and lips in the flooring—we tripped and stumbled several times. Definitely not accessibility-friendly and quite dangerous, especially for anyone with mobility concerns.||We were looking forward to using the spa facilities, but the experience there was so poor we didn’t even bother in the end. The layout is baffling—just a stark corridor with a boiler cupboard feel and two tired wooden doors leading to gender-segregated changing rooms with a tiny sauna each. The swimming pool seemed to be a mystery—we couldn’t even figure out how to access it. The entire area felt cold and uninviting. The multiple keycard barriers and the perilous spiral staircases connecting the spa and gym floors made the space feel unsafe and very poorly designed.||To top it off, we tried to visit the rooftop bar around 6pm, excited to catch the advertised DJ set. We were told, quite abruptly, that it was full and we’d have to sit in the adjacent bar (where you couldn’t hear the music) and wait 45 minutes—by which time the DJ would be done. The setup didn’t make sense and felt poorly managed, and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired.||Overall, while the room was lovely, the experience in the rest of the hotel didn’t live up to expectations. Facilities were difficult to access, poorly laid out, and lacked any real sense of hospitality. Sadly, we won’t...

Worst breakfast restaurant service. Wouldn't recommend anyone visiting the breakfast buffet which was so crowded until the waitress Nadia and her team are there. Really rude staff. The worst customer service ever experienced.

The other hotel staff at reception and top bar are fine. But wouldn't recommend anyone to take the breakfast buffet.

My mom and I stayed in Radisson Blu Plaza Oslo from 10th July to 11th July for 1 night. Had booked a premium room with fjord views (breakfast included) to enjoy a relaxing stay with my mom.

We had specifically asked the breakfast timings from the reception while checking in who had mentioned breakfast started at 6:30 am. We had an early morning train at 8 am and hence we reached breakfast buffet at 6:40 am itself on 11th morning. The waitress mentioned they recently changed their breakfast timings and now it started from 7 am. We decided to pack a small box as nothing else had started we were supposed to check out early. She was looking at us the whole time and saying we cannot take this or that hence we didn't pack much. We wanted to have an omelette that was still not ready as it had not started and they mentioned we had to wait for it to start at 7 am. We decided to wait, stood in line when the service started and took an omelette and decided to eat it there itself. One of the waitresses (Nadia) suddenly came before we had started eating and snatched the plate from my mom. She said as we had taken a box so we cannot eat. This is demeaning in the worst form. Everyone was eating. But she snatched the plate from my mom and said we should pay for it if we take a breakfast now as we already have taken a box. She did not let us eat and asked us to leave. It was nothing else but an omelette which we wanted to have hot as other things were cold.

This is the worst hotel experience. Snatching a plate of omelette which a person is about to eat. My mom cried. We had paid extra just for a comfortable stay. But snatching food from a customer who paid for the food is the wost form of customer service. We could not even eat the box we had packed. Why did we include breakfast and pay for it if we could not have it.

I think Nadia wanted to demean my mom just because she was an Indian. She wanted to look down on us. Just racist people in the breakfast restaurant who just keep on staring at whatever you eat. The hotel is not bad but the breakfast service is the worst. Wouldn't recommend anyone to...
