Had a great lunch with my husband. We both had the Plaice sandwich, which was delicious. Crispy fish and seafood. The bread was also very tasty. For the food, I enjoyed a cold glass of Riesling. The cold og refreshing Norwegian tap water was free of charge.

The waiter was serviceminded and smiled a lot. The food came quite quickly. So nice. The table was outside in a small and pleasantly quiet yard. Sunny place, but you could also sit in the shade. So nice.

Inside, it was obvious that the building was from the time of the Danish King Christian the 4th. Old interior and if you go down in the basement, you could see the Wine Cellar in the beautiful architecture.

The toilets were nice and clean.

A highly recommendable and cosy place with...

I can only agree with Gregor from the previous review: Service was mediocre at best. Food was ok but overpriced for what you get. We have two hungry teenagers, they were far from full after the main dish. For example, the 'pumkin puree' was around one tablespoon, smeared across the plate to make it look fancy. For a 'traditional Norwegen restaurant' we expected main dishes that at least somewhat satiate the average adult. Value for money is not good here. The Thai restaurant we went to the day before (Kinnara Thai Restaurant, go there!) was miles above the Gamle Raadhus with a lower bill. So it's not a 'Oslo restaurants are just...

Great food and good atmosphere. All the staff seemed friendly apart from the waiter we had which was standoffish and almost seemed mad at us from the get go. Asked if we knew what we wanted or needed a menu, and was irritated by some of us not being psychic and needing to see what they had to offer. Also asked us what we wanted to drink without offering the wine kart and then was irritated we needed time to decide. Ruined a perfectly good dinner. Also tried to charge us for 26 glasses of wine when we had 5... An error that made no sense. We were all polite and treated him with respect...

Fantastic service from Pedro! He provided great recommendations, wine pairings, and was very knowledgeable on the building and area. The ceviche amuse bouche was perfect. We got the cabbage wrapped cod starter. We also got the cod cheeks, neck, the duck and reindeer...along with two desserts. Great portions to share bites and enjoy. The history of the building is interesting. The food is presented well and delicious. Fantasic service and atmosphere. The favorite of the evening: skreikjaker Pedro was fantastic and made the meal memorable

The food was absolutely wonderful and delicious. It sure captivates you by sight and no doubt in flavor. There’s option for set menus, which is always interesting and the regular menu. The only not so good thing was that we didn’t have a choice to sit inside, so we missed out on the old style of it.
