I had higher hopes, but it was nothing special. In short “it just looks good”…

Atmosphere was nice at the restaurant, a lot of people inside. Tables outside weren't ready for the season even if there was 20C and sunny day.

I ordered entrecôte. Medium. It looked good, but texture was very like a chewing gum. And it was almost cold. The same with other meat’s dishes. Backed potato and sauce was ok. Dishes are coming without salad so I ordered sjampinjongstuing (mushrooms with the cream sauce) and it was cold. All accessories that my friends ordered were cold and it was strange because everything was made with cream sauce so it didn’t taste good. Some accessories came when people were finished with they meals. Ceasar salad doesn’t worth the price - really too much salad too less meat (chicken) and it was dry. From 10 persons just one was happy with the food - ribs. For one dish and two cocktails I paid 850 kr. The food quality and price is not what I have expected. For such price there are much better places for delicious dinner.

Tasty cocktails.

Service was quite ok. Waiter was nice, but made some mistakes (late with the orders, forgot some orders, wrong prices), but it was really a lot of customers so I’m...

BETALE FOR VANN?

Stay away from this one! We were out for a family dinner. I got suspicious when the starter arrived, the “combo”,, the saddest looking chicken wings, onion rings and prawns, served on a messy plate. Then I got my sirloin steak. I had asked for medium rare and I got a really well done steak covered with this flavor enhancing MSG spice that does not belong in any professional kitchen . The waiter and maître d’ was polite and kind enough, and they took it back and came back with another piece of meat. It had barely touched the grill, refrigerator cold inside and only slightly colored on the outside. I thought it was a joke and I looked towards the kitchen to see if the “chef’s“ were standing there looking at me and laughing. The waiter graciously told me that I did not have to pay for the uncooked meat, hooray… Our evening was ruined. I believe this is the worst dining experience I have had in Norway, very rare to see this level of poor craftsmanship, and...

Bighorn, the steakhouse that disappointed us with their inability to properly cook a steak to the ordered doneness. Despite requesting medium, we received well-done steaks with no pink color in the cross-section. 200g Ribeye steak We ordered two portions of ribeye steak, but both were served well-done instead of medium. The lack of pink color in the cross-section confirmed that the meat was overcooked. We brought this to the attention of the boss, who made us a new portion that was slightly better. The ribeye was decent but not the most tender.

This was somewhere quick and easy to get a table and good food at the Quayside in Oslo. Not exactly authentic Norwegian cuisine but the menu is good for the meat eater and the steaks were very good. The service and friendly atmosphere was excellent. The booths made the dining experience intimate and private. Recommended for the traveller who wants a good quality meal. Facilities very good and disabled friendly. English speaking and although Norway is expensive to eat out, this wasn't too expensive. Family friendly.
