We ordered take away, so this review is purely about the food:

This is an Indian restaurant for upper middle-class Europeans who have no idea what Indian food is. If you like Naan, do not go here. the garlic naan is basic roti with garlic butter smeared on top (costs 80kr). The peshwari naan is two roti slapped together with honey and nuts inside. You also have to order every side dish you usually would get complementary at this kind of price level in restaurants. This place do not know how to make naan (in my experience that is a clear sign it is not a good Indian kitchen)

The butter chicken tasted like they used saltwater pumped chicken filet in it. The mix grill was a single piece of meat of each type ( beef, chicken, scampi) so each piece of meat was about 90kr and did not taste anything. We dipped that meat in the butter chicken sauce to make it tasteful.

I've eaten indian many places in Norway and abroad, and you can get better food for less money 20 minutes away by tram.

We did'nt even eat up the food, even if we spent 800kr on it. We are never getting food from here again. This restaurant would never survive east...

Hi KARAN, Sorry for being late with my review. Firstly, everything about you village tandoori is fabulous. Can forget the tea, it felt like I was having tea in India. After craving for Indian food for almost 4 days in Norway, I googled few Indian restaurants near me, there were quite a few. I saw photos of yours restaurant and I decided to come to your restaurant and the visit was no ending till I was in Norway. My husband Pankaj n me loved the food at your restaurant and the hospitality showcased by you was super enriching. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves n values food n people. I important thing KARAN...After coming back to India, my husband almost talk daily about your sweet little old antique collection. Your counter reminds me of my Nani's study table. Thank you for lovely food n memory. People reading my review. Please do go to this restaurant if u r in Norway and do order butter chicken south Indian style. It is amazingly tasty. And dont...

This started as a 5 star review, but the end of our visit completely destroyed it. Living close by, we had talked about trying this place for a while and decided that this Friday was it. Booked a table, and was told that kitchen closed at 10pm and restaurant at 11pm. We got a nice table, really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious. But we had barely put down the fork before the table was cleared, and 5 minutes later the bill arrived with a card machine without us asking for it. No desserts or coffee, just "get out please".This was 10.10 pm, so far from alleged closing time. Then the music was turned off, lights came on and staff started leaving. While we still had wine left from our expensive bottle, which we then felt we had to finish in a rush. Really bad customer service, and not what you should expect. If you want to close early and send staff home, then don't take bookings late. And inform guests about it, instead of ruining a potentially great evening...

Very nice and intimate place, was curious to try the venison tandori dish that we stumbled across on an insta post which was tasty, my wife ordered the chicken tika which she though was good too but not up to par with others we have tasted. Things that didn't give it a full rating was the venison was a bit overdone which made it a bit dry, the tika didnt have much of a strong masala flavour, you get a descent size but there are other places that give you a bigger size for lesser price. Service is wonderfull, usually you have to book in advance as we forgot to do but they managed to find a spot for us. It was my birthday dinner and me and the wife had some alone time from our 2 year old son which was long needed. They came out with a complimentary dessert at the end with sparkling fireworks. All in all it was a great experience. Checked off venison from my bucket list.

I have tried few Indian places in Oslo but by far this is the best. Met my tastebud, we went as a small group, ordered few different curries, Grandmothers Mix, Chicken tikka, Chilli chicken and Lamb Roghan. I tried the Chilli chicken and chicken tikka. The Chilli Chicken had spiciness, sweet and sour mixed flavours and the chicken was little hard compared to the chicken Tikka, the curry was so delicious went with Madras spice level and if you’re a lover of spicy food, definitely recommend this one. The garlic bread was so soft but it went soggy because of the garlic paste mixture they’ve added on the top, wasn’t sure what it was exactly, but went well the curries. Staffs were friendly, quick service, it’s spacious and cosy, interior is really beautiful.
