Brutal. Checked out information about the so-called exhibit about Norwegian emigration to North America and it's a total joke. There is not any information about Norwegian emigration history to North America except to the USA. Walked away completely disgusted and disappointed. The Norwegians are claiming its the 200th anniversary of Norwegian emigration to North America in 2025 and there's nothing at all about Norwegian emigration in any of the countries in North America except the United States. Obviously they are discriminating againt the history of Norwegians that emigrated to other countries in North America because they didn't emigrate to the United States. All over museums and places in Norway they trying to claim this anniversary of Norwegian emigration to North America, except its just about Norwegians in the United States. Another museum in Norway same thing. Asked the museum staff why no information about other countries in North America the Norwegians emigrated to, besides just the USA like Mexico and Canada...was told they weren't interested in Norwegian history in other countries except the United States. Never seen a people so ignorant of their own emigration history in North America like the Norwegians....

The reading hall is a classical gem, with a library straff who take their job seriously, The concert rooms are tremendous (the concerts too). The walls illustrates a history of the social democratic periods of the 19th century that Scandinavia (should be) famous for! The coffee bar is a pleasant spin-off. "Hyggelig" people of Norway, well done! To students, just one thing, keep your "matpakker" to the foyér. Go and be there! I am Often! Regards to NB and all...
Read moreBeautiful building and very good facilities. Walls and (at least some of the) ceiling inside is decorated nicely - many of the walls artistically painted, seating is comfortable, there is at least one big and quiet reading room.
