I strongly advise against this restaurant. This is the fourth time I've been there. Except that this fourth time was disappointing and decisive. I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered a starter to share with my daughter, then my daughter ordered a suite and I ordered another starter. I asked her for a menu in English to make sure I wasn't mistaken, and as we ordered, we showed her our wish with our finger. The price of this starter was 169 Norwegian crowns (16 euros) and the waiter brought me back my dish, which was strangely hearty, but I've seen that even starters are a bit hearty. It's worth noting that there are no photos of the dishes on the menu. On the description there was fish, crabs and shrimps and apparently there's a dish on the menu that looks like it. I started to eat but couldn't finish - I didn't even eat half of it because I was so full. He brought me the bill, I checked and counted the number of dishes, the total seemed a bit high but I didn't have the menu to check the prices. I paid a total of 1590 crowns (160 euros) + 10% tip. Then I told my daughter that something was wrong, I had seen a dish at (499 crowns) I went to reception and took a menu, and lo and behold the waiter served me a suite and not the starter. So there was a difference of 330 crowns (33 euros). I called the waiter and to my great disappointment he said no, you ordered this dish, I said no, not at all and the waiter who served me hid his head. When I told him it was your fault, that I had no idea what the dish looked like, he said we'd closed the table because you'd already paid, and that I'd refund the difference in cash. I said okay, thanks. He came back and gave me 300 crowns instead of 330, saying that you had eaten part of the dish (I'd like to know how he quantified the dish). You could see they didn't have any money and if he'd told me that was all I'd managed to get, I'd have said ok thanks no problem. It's the principle that counts, not the money. A restaurant that charges too much, service and customer satisfaction should be its main assets. I refused to take the money, expressed my disappointment and left. Last year, there was an Algerian manager who spoke French, and I'm sure that if he'd been there, he'd never have let such a thing happen. I'll never set foot in that...
Read moreI have never eaten worse in my life. This is one of those casual dining restaurants that like to pack as many people in as possible for profit and forget the basics like having actual decent food on the menu to eat. The first mistake we made was to go there when it was a sunny evening. Don’t get me wrong, the location for evening sun is great, which contributed to the large amount of people in the outside dining area but that should not compensate for the poor quality in food. I ordered the black chicken which is chicken fillets, peppered sauce with Mediterranean vegetables and potatoes. It was revolting. Firstly it arrived and the peppered sauce had solidified which proved that it was sitting out for ages before they bothered to lift it. I sent it back and they brought it back reheated from a microwave. The chicken tasted old, had no flavour and the peppered sauce was thick, dark and gloopy and looked more like gravy than a sauce. Swimming around in it was the Mediterranean vegetables which were below average and I’m sorry, cooked pickled onions do not belong on a dinner plate. They belong nowhere. My friend who is a chef laughed and said my dish looked like something you’d serve during the day for staff in a hotel. She ordered truffle pizza and it was a flavourless mess which looked like a seven-year-old had made at a make-your pizza party. After all that we had to wait 30 mins for our bill after asking for it twice. The location is good but if a restaurant can’t cope with big numbers, then they shouldn’t allow as many people in and scrimp on the food quality. Oh and how could I forget the repetitive ‘happy birthday’ song played on loud speaker for celebrating diners. If you close your eyes long enough you might, just might, imagine youself in an all-inclusive 3* resort in Bodrum. Altogether, it cost me 444nok for my dish including a non alcoholic beer. Will...
Read moreI really was looking to go to this place. They got a decent rating and have a lovely location. It started okay, as we got very quickly some pasta for the baby on the table. on a bright note the food was good. But apart from that everything else that could possibly go wrong did: Despite having booked in advanced for 10 people it came as a real surprise that we came at our booking time, the table was not ready and we had to wait at the entrance for 10 minutes. The wait to get starters was okay (45 min from ordering) but the main dishes came 2 hours after the order ... 9 people got their man and 1 was missing ... The waiter (Kostas) asked what we had ordered!? We made a comment about the waiting time and we were not given any apology but a strange tone telling us that we were warned that it would be long wait so we had nothing to complain about. We were actually not! One plate and one pot which we were served food in was chipped. The restaurant was so full that there was a 7 people long queue at the toilet, which consequently was barely clean. At the till when I asked the name of our waiter I was asked why and I explained that we were not pleased with our experience and wanted to write to the manager and explain the case. I was again not given any apology but answered this time in a very agressive way by “the manager” that they had done their best but it was 200 people in the restaurant and it was not their problem so now I should just leave.
Sad to have to put such a bad review but you need to be prepared for this kind...
