We ordered a shawarma plate and a fatayer aziza.

The shawarma meat was RAW. We inspected the food carefully and then understood the fault and stopped eating it.

We told the server about this and showed it to him which he acknowledged and went away. Nothing was done about it.

The aziza was thankfully cooked atleast though the taste was just average.

After dining, i again recited this incident to the person at the counter but again for no use.

We regularly go to al karawan [blue] the place beside istanboly and have been very happy. Just tried out istanboly for a change today and deeply regret it.

Al Istanboly is still one of the best Shawerma joints in Muscat located in Al Khuwair area. I used to visit this place often when I was residing in Muscat. After returning to the city after couple of years and hitting this restaurant definitely brings back some nostalgic memories.

It’s quite impressive that the restaurant is able to maintain their same quality of chicken. The Shawerma was tasty and juicy. They had added their traditional garlic sauce and spicy sauce to not make the Shawerma too dry.

Can’t wait for my next trip to Muscat just to enjoy another delicious...
