Garden Hotel Muscat — Hotel in Muscat

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very disappointed with the experience. The most concerning issue was the rude and arrogant attitude of the staff, especially a receptionist named Fatima. Her behavior was unprofessional and unwelcoming, making check-in an unpleasant experience.

when checking in, I noticed that I was charged more than the rate I had booked through Booking.com. Despite raising this with the staff, I received no proper explanation or solution.

Additionally, the breakfast was far below average. The options were limited, and the quality of the food was poor, which was unexpected given the price of the stay.

To make matters worse, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the lift corridor, which was quite off-putting and made the environment uncomfortable.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless they address these issues with their staff, cleanliness, and transparency...

The location is excellent and the staff was generally fine. Parking was available most of the time, which was convenient.

That said, the rooms are quite dated — old furniture, and the TV looks like it hasn’t been updated in years. Unfortunately, the worst part of my stay was discovering BED BUGS. The first few days were okay, but then I started waking up with bites all over my arms and legs, along with allergic reactions.

When I reported it, they only offered to change my room — no apology, no compensation. I didn’t feel comfortable staying any longer, so I decided to leave early. They refused to refund the remaining night because I checked out around 7 PM, even though the situation clearly warranted it.

I left feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. Unless they address the bed bug issue and improve their customer service, I wouldn’t recommend...

I booked a standard room at this hotel due to its location and price, but my experience was disappointing. The biggest issue was the extremely small bathroom, especially the shower area, where an average adult can hardly move. When I inquired at the reception, I was told that since I booked a cheaper room, this is all I would get—which felt unprofessional and dismissive.

Additionally, the room had only one towel, and despite requesting an extra one, it was never provided. I also asked for a glass for drinking water, but again, no action was taken. I eventually had to purchase my own glasses from a nearby market, which was quite inconvenient.
