We were looking for a good restaurant in the Oman Avenues Mall, but wanted more than fast food. We decided on Bahr Al Turki. Saturday late afternoon it didn’t seem very busy. We were quickly seated among other tables. We looked over the menu and ordered a mixed appetizer plate, Fattoush salad, mixed grill plate and a soda. Sounds easy, right? Well, after 30 minutes we still did not even have the salad and appetizer plate. Not even to soda to drink. Nothing. There was one server taking all orders and serving all customers. There was probably only one cook in the kitchen too. After 40 minutes we finally received the salad, but still had no plates or silverware to eat it with! And still no appetizer or soda even! Once we finally got the salad, we tasted it. It was awful. Isn’t Fattoush salad supposed to have sumac? This had none. Then we finally got the mixed appetizer plate, but had to wait another 15 minutes before we finally got bread to go with it! But before the bread came, the mixed grill plate arrived. The beef was cold, the French fries were cold. Only chicken was warm. Then we finally got the bread. Other tables stood uncleared for 20 minutes of more. Even after cleared, still crumbs and food reside remained on the tables. Terrible service. Slow. Food not prepared well, served cold. The worst experience I have had in Muscat. I should have just gone to McDonald’s. It would have been 50...

If I could give zero stars, I would. My iftar experience at the Al-Araimi boulevard was a masterclass in how NOT to treat customers. Here's why I'll never set foot in this establishment again:
Order Chaos: My order was a complete disaster. They mixed items up, forgot things entirely, and seemed utterly clueless about what they were serving.
Where's the Iftar Essentials?: They advertised free laban and samosas for iftar – neither of which ever arrived, despite me asking twice. Talk about false promises.
Unfinished Meal: After an hour of waiting, the waiter abruptly declared they were done serving me, though I STILL hadn't received my grilled chicken and mixed grill. Unbelievable!
Soup Without Sustenance: They even managed to get soup wrong, bringing it without any bread to accompany it.
Manager MIA: The manager witnessed this entire fiasco and couldn't even muster a simple apology. The complete lack of care was shocking.
I left this restaurant hungry, frustrated, and completely disrespected. Don't waste your time or money here – there are far better options where your patronage...

The stars of the menu are undoubtedly the Cook in the Oven dishes, particularly the succulent shrimp and mouthwatering Mutton Tikka, which left us craving for more. Additionally, the Cheese Fatayer proved to be a delightful treat.
The platters are both generous and satisfying, paired perfectly with ample portions of Turkish bread. The staff, notably Anas and June, provided exemplary service, displaying warmth and professionalism throughout our dining experience.
