With Turkish food in Oman, it is hit or miss. Sato is definitely a hit with me. The service provided by the staff is exceptional, for they constantly keep an eye on your table to ensure its cleanliness and that your drinks remain full. They're polite and well-mannered, which is what all tourists should experience.
Unlike other Turkish restaurants I've tried here, Sato's, to me, tastes more clean and fresh, especially the bread served with some of the appetizers. Each time I bit into the warm bread served, it truly was a piece of heaven on earth. The Shish Tawook (Chicken) was succulent and so delicious. I was amazed at just how juicy the chicken was. I went there 4 days in a row so I could purchase this item; I thought it was worth the walk each time. I also tried the Chicken Tikka platter; it too was outstanding and beyond my expectations.
Also, the mutabal was different then what I had experienced in Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries. It was creamy and had a hint of yogurt mixed in, which enhanced the flavor to a degree. Dipping the bread I mentioned previously into this dish and eating it was truly delectable. The portion size of this dish was generous enough that I saved some of it for breakfast for the next morning. I wish I had more time to try other platters and dishes at Sato.
I love the ambiance of the restaurant. The wood finish of the tables appeals to the eyes. The cleanliness sets a high bar for others to imitate. I highly...
Read moreSato Inn Restaurant, located on the third floor of Oman Avenues Mall, is a lovely place to dine. The ambience is calm, clean, and welcoming. It’s a nice spot to relax after shopping or to enjoy a peaceful meal with friends or family. The decor is modern yet cozy, making the overall experience very pleasant.
The staff at Sato Inn are friendly and attentive. They greet you with a smile and make sure you’re comfortable throughout your meal. Service is quick, and they’re always happy to explain the menu or recommend dishes.
I ordered the Egg and Sausage combo and the Yogurt Chicken Kebab. Both dishes were flavorful and well presented. The sausage was juicy, and the egg was cooked just right. The chicken kebab was tender and had a nice tangy flavor from the yogurt marinade. The portion sizes were also satisfying.
The prices are mid-premium — not cheap, but reasonable for the quality and service you get. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Sato Inn if you’re visiting Oman...
Read moreThe place offers an authentic Turkish cuisine experience. The food is tasty, and the service is just fine. However, there is a very big room for improvement. We had their set menu for iftar in Ramadan, and it is not recommended. The reason is not the taste but the portion of what is served. We were told that this fixed menu would have soup, a meal of our choice, drinks, and a Turkish desert. First, the soup came, and it was one-third of a small bowl; altogether, it was finished with five spoonfuls. It is also limited to only the lentil soup. Then came the main course. It was well and tasty thought the seafood oven baked included only fish, so our order of seafood oven was not fully honoured.
The place may just take advantage of its grand style, but in terms of portions and quality, they need serious improvement. Of course, this was only their Ramadan pack, and their a la card service may...
