I read google reviews and decided to go to this place. It was literally empty during the weekend. I almost changed my mind after seeing the place but still wanted to try based on its review. I ordered their rice with laham, a coconut fish curry, naans and mishkaks. There were just four skewers of mishkak and they charged 1.6rials which was a rip off. And the coconut fish curry was just two pieces of fried fish and almost a kilo of tomatoes. It tasted soooo sour and the gravy was too little. Definitely wasn’t worth the price paid.
Their laham rice was a disaster for 2.8rials. There was barely any meat. They had just used belly meat and it was not enjoyable at all. The rice was just dry plain rice.
I ordered a pineapple ginger juice for 1.6rials and clearly instructed the guy not to put ice. Despite He brought an ice cold pineapple juice.
The guy who was there seemed so irritated and he gave a look as if we came to eat for free. The total bill was 13rials and I wished I had gone to a much better restaurant for three people to eat instead of going to a place like this.
Would never ever recommend anyone to visit this place. Pls never get distracted from google reviews. Visit other better places if u wanna enjoy a meal...
Read moreWe dined here a few times during our holiday in Oman, the food was always fresh and there are plenty of choices, the staff was very helpful and friendly as well. I have to make a special mention to Ghalib, the owner of the place, who really went the extra mile and helped us organize a little boat trip to one of the nearby places, a good turtle-watching spot. Before going to Oman, I only read about the friendliness of the Omani people, but Ghalib was a true example that these are not just stories you can read on travel blogs, the people are really superfriendly and helpful to foreign tourists.
Big thanks again, and of course, if you are in the area, hop in for food, it is also recommended because the kitchen style is somewhat different from the other places you can choose from, so it was nice to have some diversity and we could taste other flavors than the ones we did before during our holiday! (e.g. Samaki Wakupapa - grilled fish in...
Read moreOur experience at Homey was exceptional in every aspect. Located conveniently near our accommodation, we decided to give it a try, and it exceeded our expectations. The value for money is impressive, with well-sized portions and flavors that truly stood out. The set lunch menu offered great value, and both the food and ambiance were excellent.
The staff played a significant role in making our visit memorable. Their warm, welcoming nature, combined with professionalism and a sense of humor, made us feel comfortable and never rushed, even during a late meal. The décor and atmosphere were thoughtfully designed, creating a pleasant and relaxed dining environment.
We highly recommend this venue and look forward to returning...
