Karachi Darbar Restaurant مطعم كراتشي دربار — Restaurant in Muscat

Just day before yesterday, I went to Karachi Darbar Restaurant with few families for one birthday party. I am writing my experiences:

Positive:

Food quality as well as taste is very good. specially, all started items were marvelous. Main purse was also very good & not too rich. Price is comparatively low. People are very cordial and cooperative Neat and clean Music system for hall is good. No much waiting Location is very good, for all respect People can have food with homely atmosphere No noise or disturbance Flexible and cooperative in terms of hall booking They love to serve, which I like most

Negative:

We have taken a big hall of around 35 people, the hall is good but not too good. If they modernize internal decoration, it will become a new shape & more attraction. If the hall is with few plants, flower it will become more interesting. Lighting system for dancing & party not seen

Finally, it became one of my favorite restaurant in Oman. Definitely, I will visit next time...

Short description: Great value for money We ordered for take away- the service was prompt, and friendly. The food was delicious- not too greasy, as food from the subcontinent sometimes has the potential to be.

Long description: Veg fried rice- decent portion size, great taste Garlic and Butter naan- standard, no complaints, no raves Paneer butter masala: a little on the sweet side, but given the price had a surprisingly good paneer to gravy ratio Bhuna mutton is a definite repeat order- great pieces of mutton, cooked till tender and succulent, in some thick gravy type keema. Achari mutton- never had an achari style dish before so can't compare, but it was a little heavy handed with the achar feeling. Karachi Darbar is known to me for the last two years. They use to have excellent dum biryani in town. Having the same reputation in mind, I ordered chicken and mutton dum biryani and bhidi gosht today. To my surprise, there is there is a huge deterioration in quality of food. Meat was not tender, chicken was almost tasteless and bhindi gosht was intolerably bad. It was a big disappointment for me and my family to have this kind of food from one of my favorites food outlets. It was another big surprise when I called the restaurant and made a complaint about the quality of food for the sake of improvement, the response was mediocre and negative, Instead of apology, I was told that nobody else has made a complaint. Wow. Good bye Karachi Darbar. Try to improve your service levels or leave it. It is your choice. I hope, management will take...
