⭐ 0.5/5 – Worst hotel experience ever, avoid at all costs!

Cleanliness – The room floor was sticky and clearly not mopped properly, making it unhygienic and impossible for my child to walk barefoot. The bathroom was in an appalling state: the bathtub had visible stains, a strong foul smell filled the space, and overall it felt like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. Staying in such a condition was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable.

Maintenance – While trying to close the bathroom door, the ceiling light fell off, leaving the bathroom unusable.

Service – Promised technician never came. No proactive support from staff even after repeated complaints.

Amenities – Towels, dental kits, and drinking water were not provided properly, even on the second day.

Check-in – Despite a confirmed Agoda booking, staff made us wait 30 minutes, claiming no record of reservation.

Room access – The key card failed four times; even staff’s master card didn’t work. After multiple trips to reception, we finally got another room past 1 AM.

Parking – No proper parking facility. Guests are forced to leave cars 500m–1km away, highly inconvenient especially with kids and luggage.

Overall impact – The issues forced us to check out early, losing one full day of our planned Muscat trip.

This was the most frustrating hotel stay of my life, and I strongly urge everyone to avoid...

I have stayed here in June and all was as expected in a 2 star hotel. This time the receptionist was not interested to check me in and was on mobile talking to some girl... had to intervene after 15 mins of wait to get the room 409.||||Room was ok to look at, but at night heard strange noises and woke up. Saw some paint splashed on the ceiling, i broke into sweat and the eyes travelled to the headboard, over it saw another splash and a strange lump on the wall. After that i just coulnt get up from the bed, crawled to the other end to call the reception where no one picked up.||||I then tried getting out of bed but somehow couldnt, so lay there of exhaustion sweating profusely and right hand in pain... thought i was having an heart attack, coukdnt recall my prayers which got me worried.... as sunrise happened i was relieved and managed to get an hours sleep, then checked out and waited for my colleague to pick me up||||Back home now, it wasnt an heart attack for sure! Not sure what it was but wasnt...

Surprised to know after check-in that it is not rotana brand at all. Huge sign of rotana displayed. Booking.com misleading the people when booked on-line. Worst & horrible experience ever in life of hospitality, filthy smelling minibar, left over food, half empty mineral water and empty cans of beverages found in the mini-bar, next room flush and drainage noise clearly heard in our room, very smelly, dark corridors, big attitude of the staff. No remote control for TV. TV channel had challenge till the room attendant replaced with new remote control. Only one bath towel provided, specially when you book for 3 pax. Poor refilling of the breakfast buffet. Asked for omelette, refused to serve as it is not part of the buffet. Safe box not working. While booking the staff was very rude and everything with negative answer, even he does not know the location of the hotel when asked to give the proper location while coming from sohar to the hotel. Anything I asked him answer was "NO". not...
