The Cube - Lahore [Post 1 of 4]
Not knowing what to expect, we headed out to #TheCube by #TheNishat for #dinner. Upon the first look, the restaurant is small. It is set on two floors so a small area on the ground floor and a small area upstairs. Do two smalls make one big? Anyway, we went there on a weeknight (because weekends are for #sleeping) and there were zero other people. Pros and cons of that.
Craving for #seafood, I ordered ‘Grilled Tiger Prawns’ and my husband ordered ‘#Steak au Poivre’ as our mains.
Keep reading through our next post to know what we thought of our #meal!
The Cube — Lahore [Post 2 of 4]
The #grilled #tiger #prawns WERE ACTUAL TIGER PRAWNS! There is #excitement in my voice (in my head) while writing this because many times, tiger prawns in #Pakistan are anything but tiger. They also came in their shell which is how I like them because I like to peel the meat out with my bare hands, none of that fork and knife business. The spaghetti it came along with reminded me of homemade #spaghetti. It was nothing out of the blue considering the high price of the dish but at the same time, it was #tasty. There was nothing wrong with the dish, but it was too #safe. I am sure some other #cafes in #Lahore could easily put that dish to shame with their #creativity.

The Cube — Lahore [Post 3 of 4] “Steak au Poivre” -- As you are reading this name, I am sure you’ve got the pronunciation right till steak au. The “poivre” must have gone a bit downhill. This is coincidentally an accurate representation of the dish as well. We said the name with such confidence and when the dish arrived, it was.. okay. The steak itself wasn’t bad and it was cooked just as we had asked (medium done) but again, it was not #mindblowing. The #melting butter on it was delicious but it was not the saviour of the dish. I like to have a good quantity of sides to go with the steak either its mashed potatoes or vegetables. But they gave us 3 #potato #wedges and countable vegetables. That was a bit #awkward.

Finally, we were only mildly impressed by #TheCube and had several other places in mind that could have given us a better #foodexperience in that budget. Trying to find the silver lining, we thought having the place just to ourselves would’ve been #legit but it actually wasn’t. We got bored and the food didn’t #entertain or #excite us either. Would we go back? Probably not. Would we recommend it as a “must try”? Probably not.

Read moreWaste of money, waste of time and equally dangerous for health. We heard alot and thought to give it try. The ambience was below average. Service was very poor. They took atleast an hour to cook the food which was supposed to be ready in 20 min as per them. We ordered 5 different dishes and none of us was able to eat the whole dish due to very miserable and pathetic taste. Steaks were served with some gravy sauce which was so disgusting that it killed all the good vibes from steak. Tiger prawns looked stale and old. Not that but they also were pathetic in taste. Tuscan chicken which the hotel staff boosted alot was the worst chicken dish one could possibly eat in his whole life. They served a dish in which chicken was stuffed with spinach and cheese. Well this dish was also competing with the earlier dish and we were unable to distinguish which of both chicken dishes is more pathetic. Also the chicken was undercooked. I forgot about the complementary bread and butter they served before our meal. Well we had to fight with butter in order to spread it on the so called bread. Overall experience was the worst one ever with no value for money and waste of time. We could have easily had a good lunch in same money in one of the best restaurants in Lahore. Just our badluck that we came here and thought to give it a try. I would strictly recommend Or should I say advice you to not to go there and waste your time and money on these...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of attending the vibrant Mango Festival at The Nishat Hotel’s Cube Restaurant, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish.
The event was a perfect celebration of mango season — creatively curated with a unique Desi x Lebanese fusion that truly stood out. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the serene and attractive ambience. The décor was elegant and festive, setting the perfect mood for a summer feast.
The food spread was phenomenal! I started with the tangy chaat station, which offered a burst of flavors — perfectly spiced and refreshing. The juicy grills and kebabs had a mouthwatering aroma and were cooked to perfection. I tried almost every dish — from biryani to finger fish, and I must say, the finger fish was one of the best I’ve had in Lahore — crispy, tender, and bursting with flavor.
And of course, no mango festival is complete without desserts! The dessert section was a mango lover’s paradise — from mango cakes to mango mousse and traditional mithai with a twist of mango essence. Everything tasted divine.
The service was equally impressive. The staff was courteous, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our dining experience.
Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good food, relaxing ambience, and a touch of innovation in their...
