La Fisheria Seafood Amador — Restaurant in Ancón

Will start with the good. The ambious is outstanding with great views of the water. The waitress was on top of things and provided quick, efficient service. Now we move on to the drinks. We ordered 3 drinks, and all three were extremely watery. My wife ordered a second drink but requested they add more liquor, and they did. I ordered a chicaron appetizer, which came out on a beautiful plate, but hardly any meat and the fat was not cooked out, thus wasn't eaten. I ordered a $38 ribeye, which was probably about an 8 oz steak for $38??? To add insult to injury, it came out cold and had no flavor (you could tell the steak was just thrown on grill with no type of seasoning). I don't mind paying whatever the price is, but if they are going to charge such high prices, they must do better than this...Very disappointing...

What a delicious & fun family lunch spot! As soon as we arrived, it felt so special to see everyone in seafare uniforms (our seven year old daughter said she felt like we had lunch on a boat). Our waiter, Ruben, was extremely attentive and friendly. He was always at the table as soon as we glanced his way. Thank you, Ruben!

Secondly, the seafood was ABOVE and beyond. We were properly impressed by all of it. Wow. We were especially impressed by a seafood tartare style starter dish that was made with passionfruit and white fish. It tasted like something from a Michelin tasting menu.

And finally, you can’t beat the price! We went all out, got a nice bottle of Italian wine, got starters and main courses, and it was $140 for 3 of us.

We will absolutely come back to see the La Fisheria...
