The Restaurant/Shop called Market is located at Calle 48 Este-Rogelio Alfaro is a place where you can buy apparently fresh ingredients but me and my family went to Market to try out their food. the atmosphere is amazing having a big wall of wine, a chalk board with the desert menu and much more. The dishes that we orders are 6 Ostras costing 5$ each which is insane for an Ostras, it tastes so fishy and had nothing special on it. Next dish we order was the Majillones, which was very disappointing because they give you such little mussel compare to other restaurants that has bigger mussel.Next dish is Rockefeller Oyster was pretty delicious but the price is insane costing 32$. The mains we order Colorado Lamb, Rib Eye, Maine Lobster, and Porter House 110. All the meats were amazing but the most disappointing part is the side dishes having a whole tomato and a bread that so soft and bland. I suggest putting mashed potatoes or French fries. Very disappointed of the side dishes. Futhermore, the salmon crujiente and the veggie roll are the most disappointing dishes I have ever seen , the salad is so small and won’t fill you up at all, I was expecting plenty of greens but you get a small bowl of greens and the sushi is so small that it looks like it’s for a kid to eat. Probably the best dish that we order that was the best for the money is the pizza carbonara costing 13$ with amazing flavors. Overall, great staff but one of the staff kept staring at us which was weird and I recommended just getting a burger or pizza to be safe since all other dishes are either small or...
Read moreOur second visit in a week to The Market. Very nice and helpful servers. Busy atmosphere, perfect lighting, comfortable decor, and beautiful menu of american style foods with beautiful Panamá presentation.
I’ve been told to try the Panamá prepared Octopus (pulpo) and thought this would be the right place. I was not disappointed! Appetizer was served 3 ways on single plate - carpaccio (my favorite of the 3), fried, and chargrilled I believe. Was not sure of the translation but all 3 were very good.
I followed with the scallops which were seared perfectly and was just the right amount for my lighter appetite. My husband ordered the same meal again of the Chicken Parmesan. He ordered a side of Portebello Hash which were pan fried mushrooms which he promptly used over the chicken. He was very pleased again with his choice.
When you arrive at The Market there is a sweets counter of beautiful truffles. Could not resist so bought a box to take home. They were also great. I will return again to purchase a few boxes for gifts to take home to Michigan. The market also includes choice meats on display with aging area and seafood on ice. All adds up to a really nice experience. I’m sure we will be back again before returning home!
And we did…. This time we had a burger with all the best accompaniments which was cooked as I requested. My husband had the Waygu steak and it was served a perfect medium as he requested and was...
Read moreIt's a shame that in 2024 and in a pretty ethnically diverse country we face these kinds of situations. My hubby and I went to this establishment for an early dinner, and despite it being pretty empty we were asked if we had a reservation; as it was well before peak hours for dinner (6 pm) we didn't have one, plus the place was quite empty. They sat us down and then decided to blatantly ignore us for about 20 mins; the proportion between staff and customers was leaning towards the staff, there were more servers than seated tables and yet every waiter and waitress decided to avoid eye contact to keep them from acknowledging our presence. After being unable to ignore our constant waving, someone finally approaches our table with water and menus only to send us back to oblivion; 35 mins passed of feeling like part of the furniture and we decide to leave. Mind you, nobody even batted an eye or tried to stop us, asked what was wrong, nothing. After some investigation I come to realize that there's been rumors of racial discrimination in this place, and as I thought about it, it just so happens that the rest of the (few) occupied tables that were being waited were seating lighter-skinned or caucasian-like customers; coincidence? I don't know, you tell me; bottom line is we're never going back to this place and we'll make sure to share our (terrible) experience every...
