ESTAMBUL CASCO — Restaurant in San Felipe

A gem with the BEST Arabic food outside a Middle Eastern country.I spent 10 days in Casta Viejo and on finding this place I ate either lunch or dinner here EVERY DAY!! The owner was a delight and made everything from scratch right there behind the counter buying freash ingredients daily( ran into her many a time at the bid market). The water Adrean speaks perfect English and there is a wonderful other cook. I was transported back to Morocco my best friend's Lebanese mother's kibbi.The truly authentic taste of super freash homemade no preservatives hummus (I watched her grind the peas!!!) The portions were big enough for me to take away a second meal and their smoothies were AMAZING. They made me this bright red drink and on learning it had beet juice I declined. They insisted I try it and I'm glade I did. The flavor of the spices etc was so intense and delicious my eyes bugged out. Had a long layover In Panama and got out from Airport late. Was hungry and wanted to explore a lil bit Casco Viejoin a safe zone as a solo traveler. I went to few places to check out couldn't find a place to leave my heavy back pack. Only 5h to explore!!!!1st time in Panama city and I was just walking by and saw Estambul Casco. The team were like exceptional. Shout out to Eric and Zene Made me feel welcomed and helped me w my laggage to keep while I was exploring el barrio Casco Viejo. Hookah, food, music, atmosphere was cozy and they have a gorgeous cat sitting by the window that was one of the reasons I decided to check that place out💯❤️👌If you know about Turkish places or Turkey then you know CATS are a GOOD LUCK. Que deshonra para la comida turca!!!. Si tuviera menos de una Estrella esa sería la calificación. Lo único que tiene el lugar turco es el nombre del restaurante . Esperaba un menu en turco y en español . Viví en Turquía mucho tiempo y mi esposo es turco, así que si se muy bien que estoy hablando . La música del lugar era de Bad bunny 😩, tanta música hermosa que hacen los turcos . El ambiente para nada me llevo a Turquía. El té que una de las cosas más característico de ese hermoso país era una mezcla de Anís , miel y no se que mas ; de sólo olerlo ni me lo pude tomar. Cada plato del menú no se de que país era pero de Turquía no es, nada nada . Pizza turca , que va ; eso era una pizza de queso de esas congeladas que venden en cualquier tienda y la pusieron en el microondas y ya… la pizza turca no lleva queso . Yo vi todo el proceso de elaboración de la comida desde la mesa donde estaba sentada y la verdad que pena con la gastronomía turca la verdad😔; para mi la comida turca es una de las más deliciosas para no decir la mejor que he comido . Ese lugar no representa nada nada lo delicioso de los platos turcos.ni una cerveza turca pude tomarme , con el calor que hacía . Ojalá cuando regrese a panama haya cambiado pues solamente regresaré para ver si aunque sea un köfte (que es algo muy sencillo de hacer y súper delicioso) me puedo comer. La comida turca tiene sabor inigualable y exquisito que no lo tiene otra comida, esa definitivamente no sabe a nada. Lo siento . Love...
