Flavors Deli & Catering is definitely an Instagram-worthy restaurant—you can take really nice pictures, and the atmosphere has great chromatic colors. But at the end of the day, it’s a restaurant, so let’s talk about the food.
We ordered a cappuccino, Golden Crunch Pancakes, and Braised Porky with a side of scrambled eggs. The cappuccino was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The Golden Crunch Pancakes looked amazing—so picturesque and vlog-worthy—but the taste didn’t match the presentation. They didn’t feel fresh; it seemed like they were pre-made, then reheated and decorated. It was definitely more of a dessert, but unfortunately, it lacked the freshness you’d expect from pancakes.
As for my scrambled eggs, they were definitely freshly made but slightly burned at the bottom. I’m not sure if this happened because they let the food sit too long while preparing the other dishes, but they weren’t hot when served.
Now, onto the Braised Porky. I went with my mom, and she immediately noticed that the hojaldre wasn’t freshly made. Again, it seemed like it had been pre-made and warmed up before serving, as it wasn’t hot. When we mentioned it to the staff, they were very kind and reheated it, but even then, it still didn’t taste fresh. The flavors were there, but the lack of freshness took away from the experience.
