This is such a great find in the San Francisco neighborhood. The menu is inventive without trying too hard. They mix what is healthy, comforting, familiar with what is trendy, global and slightly sinful. I had an hojaldre a caballo which is a large fried flatbread topped with two fried eggs, sliced sirloin tossed with herbs and tomatoes in a criolla sauce and crumbled queso fresco. It was a very satisfying meal for $15. Many locals would take offense for the price because they'd feel it's something they, or better yet their maid who cooks, could make at home. I think it's worth the price because Local takes great care in selecting quality ingredients and executing the dish beautifully. I had it with cafe con leche and it was nice they had options for the milk: almond, whole and skim. Even though I ate on the terrace, the decor is attractive and on trend with its jewel tones and warm metals. I did think it was odd that the yellow gas line was exposed running along semi-discreetly along the top of the paneling. I took a quinoa and garbanzo bowl to go, and it really hit the spot later in the afternoon. I'd like to to back and try other things on their creative yet...

They seat you, take your drink order and go on with their lives and never look back. The only reason we got our food is because a waitress in a different section asked about what we were waiting for. Her name is: Zoe and IF she has a section open, sit in hers. You might eat sooner....maybe. 🥴 (It should also be noted that I made it a point not to act like an impatient American it had been an HOUR.) If this place had the service and a faster kitchen staff to match the food, the reviews would be much...
Read more0 stars to the service. 1 star to the food- it was barely ok. The scrambled eggs were burnt, had no cheese added to them as requested & charged for. The pancakes were marginal- very dense & heavy. Even without the horrendous experience we had, I wouldn’t come back for the so-so food. The good reviews on the food HAVE to be from friends & family of the owner/manager.. that or the 3 of us all ordered the wrong 3 things off of the menu. We wished we tried the little bakery next door instead. What a waste...
