The place has two floors. The top is preferred by everyone most likely because at the bottom, the door and/or window is kept open and it could feel fresh. Also the place offers take aways which has for effect to bring a lot of traffic at the bottom floor and delay the service of the food for people inside. For example, we had to wait 20 minutes for our breakfast. On the plus side, that is probably the second best hot chocolate I had in Peru in the last 2 weeks. My favourite being in Pan Sal Aire in Lima. The waffles I had selected were filled with ham, cheese, and oregano. On the menu it said it would come with a fried egg on top but the server asked us how we wanted it eggs; we had said poached eggs but it still came with the fried egg. The salad on the side was very oily. The ingredients of the waffles lost there taste by being mixed with the waffle dough. That is a pity and they would probably do better serve them on top of the waffle. I had some hard pieces (stone like) in my wallet that I suspect may come from the oregano. The sauce provided with the waffle is necessary as otherwise the waffle feel rather dry. The fried egg of my wife was hard instead of runny. The dish with the avocado was looking rather poor in quantity. The papaya juice was ok. The staff is very friendly but I have the feeling they take on too much between the service inside and...
Read moreBig menu with a good mix of comfort food and snacks. Delicious coffee (the naranja and passion fruit coffees are particularly special). Good prices. Cute atmosphere. For the most part, service was amazing (staff were friendly, quick to respond and happy to speak some broken Spanish with me as I learn). The only point for improvement is the staff through the week (Mon - Fri) provided significantly better service than the staff on Saturday and Sunday (the place was no more busy when I went on the weekend vs. a weekday so it was confusing why the weekend staff seemed unimpressed, were less responsive and more impatient. Maybe just my experience and I had high expectations after being helped by weekday staff. It's not something that would stop me...
Read moreThe food is nothing special but it is a fun and cool little place to hang out. Waffles taste like any standard waffle you’d get an American breakfast chain. Servers are friendly and speak English, but the service itself is pretty slow. I waited ten minutes for my juice and coffee, asked for butter for my waffle and waited five minutes because the server waited until he could bring others orders which is understandable but by the time he brought it I was already eating my waffle as to not let it get cold. This place seems more geared to gringos, and you’ll find a lot of them here. But, if you’re looking for authentic and delicious Peruvian breakfast then you better keep looking as this can be closely compared to IHOP...
