La Recontra - Fast Good Vegano — Restaurant in Lima Metropolitan Area

I'm so glad I checked out La Recontra!

This is not a restaurant but a food-truck style courtyard with several order-at-the-counter, take-out food businesses that have shared picnic tables and chairs in a central courtyard. There are a couple of other businesses, so it is a good spot for large groups with disparate interests (although I think La Recontra is the only one to have vegan offerings).

We ordered two burgers with onion rings; the Oklahoma and the bacon cheeseburger. Both my dad (not vegan) and I agreed we would order ours again. Dad said the bacon wasn't crispy, but tasted great. And my Oklahoma with cheese and sauteed onions was delicious. It was super heavy; the two patties were too much for me and it was actually hard to finish (and I was hungry!). But I would still recommend it--every bite was great. I know that this place makes good food.

The only think that was a bust was the milkshake, which was so liquid it was almost just sweet milk.

The people there were awesome. Gustavo was super friendly and helpful; he guided us through the menu with instagram pics. Looking forward...

Really good burger, we've given it a three star due to the price increase, so please change your menu, as they did a meal deal for the same price as the burger on its own only a few months ago. And the menu isn't as good as it use to be, unfortunately.

The burger was very good, very salty though, it didn't come with chips, and it was a little burnt for our liking.

Tad more pricey than other vegan...

Incredible vegan junk food, genuinely one of the best vegan burgers I've ever had. Yes, it's a bit on the pricier side but I don't mind paying more for GOOD food. We tried the specials which were good but the bacon cheese burger was the star of the show. The service was also really good and the food came out super fast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a dirty vegan...
