Enjoyed a very relaxing stay at this brand new hotel. The staff were fantastic. A shout out to Daniel, Viktoria at the desk, to Giovanni at the concierge and Romina, David, Briggette and Jesus in the restaurant/lounge, to name but a few of the great staff I met. Your warmth and professionalism made the short stay most memorable. Being a guest on the first day of operations revealed some minor teething issues, such as not all items on the published restaurant menu being available but the food ultimately selected was excellent. The wine that was available for purchase by the glass was quite limited but I have the utmost confidence that the hotel will make adjustments to the menu and wine list as they move forward while listening to their guests. The location of the hotel was a major factor, being in the heart of Mira Flores and most convenient to a Metropolitano station. There were only two long term negatives that I believe should be addressed by the hotel staff. One was the use of cheap plastic cups in the bathrooms. Definitely did not fit in with the overall high quality of everything else, nor do they fit with the hotel's "green theme." The second was the concrete curb at the main entrance. There is no ramp or grade at the main doors to allow rolling luggage carts, suitcases or wheelchairs to move easily from arriving vehicles or the sidewalk to the lobby. This barrier is not exclusive to the hotel. In general, Lima's sidewalks, curbs and infrastructure present many obstacles and hazards to the walking public. However, the municipalities are making progress. Improvements are constantly being...
Read moreI'm not really a fan of chain hotels but after a stay in the jungle wanted somewhere in Miraflores which would be very comfortable & reasonably priced & this fitted the bill. Overall our experience was excellent. The room was a good size, really comfortable & came with iron/ironing board, coffee maker & hairdryer, powerful shower etc. Strangely there was no kettle but it was quickly provided when asked. Our room was on the 13th floor so had little street noise. Breakfast had a very good selection including fresh orange juice. ||There were a few areas for improvement. They don't seem to have enough staff serving coffee. One morning we were eating quite early & it was quiet. When I went to pour myself some coffee, I was told, no, they would come & serve me - but I had to wait over 5 minutes. On our last morning it was busy & again, we kept having to try & catch a waitress,'s attention to get coffee which was not particularly hot & quite weak. Our tv remote control didn't work properly (not a big deal & to be fair we didn't bother reporting it). Finally on our last morning, they seemed to disable both our key cards 10 minutes before checkout! I had to go down to get them reactivated. No apology from Reception staff. ||Location wise, the hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the Larcomar shopping centre, about 10 minutes from the Indian/Inka Market & 15 minutes from Huaca Pucclana so it's a pretty good location but probably at the limit of where you'd want to be in terms of tourist...
Read moreMy wife and I were married in Miraflores 41 years ago and decided to stay in an air conditioned hotel on this trip. We had stayed in a guest accommodation on our previous trip last year and found that it was not that comfortable or clean. After 41 years, Lima has really changed. The city and surrounding areas are much cleaner and beautiful. Vehicles use much cleaner fuel and the local governments are watering the parks and green areas. We didn't see any trash burning in the streets and there were no flyers or graffiti posted on walls or light poles. The food was excellent and we never got sick from eating it. Bottled water - sin gas - is available everywhere. Unfortunately, the traffic is still terrible and I would recommend using a taxi. The Holiday Inn in Lima-Miraflores is only a few years old, but has double paned windows, so there was no noise from the street. The air conditioning was a blessing, as temperatures rose to 85 degrees F on several days during March. The cleaning staff was very gracious in allowing us to leave the room after 12:00 pm and still clean the room daily. The free wi-fi allowed us to explore new restaurants in the area and visit places around Lima, Miraflores, Barranco, San Isidro and San Borja. The location of the hotel, close to the Miraflores Ovalo is great for exploring Miraflores and the...
