We visited this cafe 2 years ago and loved it so much, so when we decided to visit Lima agait, it was #1 place to return.
Yet, this time we were disappointed with service and a bit with food. It took them 20 min to cook 4-in-1 dish and an hour to cook marina parilla though the cafe wasn't full! Moreover, we didn't find the price for marina parilla in menu, there was only a picture of it. So we didn't even know the price (which is 100 Soles).
Ceviche and other food in 4-in-1 set was tasty and fine with salt, but parilla was too salty.
The service is very slow. Not only cooking, but also when we waited for change. For some reason there was only one waiter for 2 cafes (Bam Bam has 2 cafes next to each other).
The prices have become much higher than we remember it. All in all we payed 180 Soles (100+65+15) for two dishes and juice. It's high even for Miraflores!
Unfortunately, now we don't want to...
Read moreIf you visit this restaurant try Ceviche a la palta. It is really good. I have also tried the Platazo 1. It's Ceviche de pescado and Ceviche de conchas negras. The Ceviche de pescado is OK, but nothing special. The Ceviche de conchas negras wasn't good. It felt like rubber and the seaweed on all of the ceviches is glibberish and doesn't improve the taste at all. Pro: Ceviche a la palta, the very friendly staff, the nice arrangement on the plate and relatively cheap prices. Contra: not tasty ceviche de conchas negras, seaweed as topping, small portions, a little bit of diarrea...
Read moreLocal place by the market which serves decently priced yet excellent food. Tried the trio set which was a big portion for 1. Good ceviche which was very fresh and delicious. The fried fish was a good surprise; perfectly fried and not too dry. Best to pair the meal with a chicha morada (Love the good balance of sweet and sour). The appetizer chips were addictive. Definitely a must visit in Lima. Try to go before 12 as the shop will be...
