Ok, so yes, it’s Guinea Pig. It’s a local dish in Peru, so might as well try.
This place is way off the beaten path, you’re gonna need a taxi. Our local tour guide said this was the best guinea pig in the entire city, said it was one of the original places before everyone else started serving the dish for tourist.
So, like any tourist, we were hesitant…but it was GOOD! We had it fried, lots of flavor. Would definitely try it baked next time. They only serve guinea pig for a main dish. They specialize in one thing and do it right!
