I'm reposting this review here since we were on the same bus with people that booked via Machu Picchu Express:
We booked a busride from hidroelectrico (next to machu picchu) to cusco. We were simply shocked by the rudeness of our driver, Abel.
First of all he refused leave up to 40min after the scheduled departure time since he was looking for further customers.
Since he did not find them, he was constantly on the Phone while driving in the serpentines (next to cliffs that mean certain death if you fall in) on a dirt road.
Then he was massively speeding at night so that several times even other cars honked at us - i guess he tried to catch up for the delay he caused.
When customers were talking to him, he was constantly ignoring them (even though they were standing right next to him) - tip: Abel responds if you wave with your ha ds in front of his face so that he cant see his mobile phone anymore.
A running gag was that Abel was shopping all the time - first he had to recharge his phone, then he was buying avocados bur unfortunately bananas were out at the moment, so he had to stop a Third time. Did i mention that he was only allowing the customers a single bano/pee-break (for 20 minutey but it lasted half an hour since he wanted to have his dinner).
PS: the usual bus ride features (loud radio, and a movie at night that prevents you from sleeping is included - abel even has a little screen at the front, so that he can watch the movie while driving...
In summary: I'm so happy i got out of this...

We got the 'Machu Picchu Express’ bus from Hidroelectrica to Cusco. Whole experience was so unorganised and frantic with the driver running around ignoring customers, the bus was over booked so 4-5 people couldn't get back, little did they know they were the lucky ones!!
Our driver was rude, constantly on his phone, driving way to fast in the rain, and the inevitable happened he flipped the bus which ended up on its side and slid off the road (luckily this happened on a corner on the mountain side, corners before and after would have been cliffs) ..we were told that 12 people had to go to hospital…not sure if true. We organised the escape through the window and got everyones belongings out.
Then we had to pay for a 2 hour taxi to get back to Cusco. We spoke with the travel agency we booked through they hadn't even heard the news, they called Fredy the owner of 'Machu Picchu Express' who said he'd come in and talk with us about compensation and items we had lost in the accident, the coward never showed up! Fredy never answered his phone again. The lady at the agency was very apologetic and refunded us the money for the taxi - this agency not same as bus company.
Please do not risk using this company, we are so lucky to have come out of it with only a few bruises...
