Zermatt Restaurant on the 15th penthouse floor of La Grande Residence serves delicious tasting, beautifully presented plates of food with amazing flavors. They offer a diverse palate pleasing menu; covering breakfast, lunch, dinner to late night. After dining there three times in the last two weeks; team training and consistency are areas of opportunity. Today I had a late lunch at 2:30 pm; I ordered an appetizer, entree and dessert. I specifically asked that the mozzarella sticks be served as soon as the kitchen finished preparing them. I was presented with the apple crumble with a scoop of ice cream dessert as my first course; I refused it as dessert is to be served last. Then the Restaurant Manager presented my entree and I asked about my Mozzarella sticks appetizers, I was told it was ready. While I appreciate the speed the kitchen can prepare my meal, the goal is to receive ONE course at a time and enjoy it while it is hot. The food is very delicious and well prepared by the kitchen team; it is just a shame to overwhelm the diner with their entree and then appetizer at the same time, resulting in cold food. Three of three visits I ordered the Mozzarella sticks; the first and third time it was served with Marinara sauce, the second visit it was served with spicy picante (salsa) sauce ⊠not a pleasant surprise. The menu does not specify what sauce will be served with the Mozzarella sticks; for consistency best that wait staff and kitchen are aligned on what will automatically be served as the default sauce. The view from the 15th floor penthouse glass walled restaurant is breathtaking. The dining room is outfitted with comfortable seating, background music and lots of ac. There is a napkin box on the table with a call button for the wait staff. Flies seem to be an issue in the restaurant and no proactive abatement measures were visible. Love the food, the Quality is worth the price and the view is amazing! Leadership in both the front and back of house (kitchen) have opportunities; team training is single greatest investment that will lead to a unified team understanding procedures, which will enhance consistency and customer satisfaction. Followed by leadership hands on oversight with the objective to reward employee excellence in job...
Read moreFood: I was kind of disappointed that they no longer serve raclette. (You may refer to my pics for their updated menu.) Their Currywurst and Wiener Schnitzel are okay. It's worth the try if you like to explore European food. If you like Carbonara or cream-based pasta in general, you'll love their Roeschti ala Roger. đ„° The only downside is that their food is on the pricey side.
Drinks: As someone with a sweet tooth, my favorite was their Banoffee Pie Milkshake Frappe. Despite the fact that it was listed under cocktail, it does not contain any alcohol. I did not feel the need to order any cakes as it already doubles as a dessert. đ Their Long Island Iced Tea is not bad.
The service is also good. I think it helped that only 3 tables were occupied when we dined there. I think the staff should be more attentive though. It was hard to catch their attention when we asked...
Read moreI tried a few meals and I have to say that the food is just ok on average . the club sandwich was bad. to much toast with less vegetables and chicken. to much mayonese. the rösti a la Roger were good, especially the rösti. but when I tried the beef stroganoff the rösti was crispy outside but not finished inside and that was not a beef stroganoff . the kimchi jigae was bad. the chop suey was ok, but too much sugar and boring. the adobo pork was ok, but overpriced for what you get. the omlette is very untasty , no flavors and the spinach seemed to be old. and please don't put chinese mushrooms in it. the cappuccino is average . the service is ok. a lot of staff, bringing service water, but sometimes don't focus on the guest. overall: for the Philippines ok, but for example in Thailand this restraurant could...
