Excellent German bistro! Breezy open aired seating on the first floor with an expansive airconditioned 2nd floor. Chef Tomas is very nice and hospitable.
The salad was quality. European type red and green lettuce was crispy and crunchy. Also had a kind of arugula that's different than others. It was all very delicious and not expensive.
Currywurst was excellent. I had it with a veal sausage.
Smoked salmon sandwich was nice and light.
The kid had the breaded chicken which was surprisingly good. The breading had alot of flavor and not greasy at all.
Also had the 4-sausage platter and chose the Veal, Italian garlic, Frankfurter, and Vienna. Very good quality. It came with a siding of sauerkraut, potatoes, and dijon sauce.
To top it off, we had the mandarin cheesecake, also pretty tasty.
Location is great, off the busy street and it's got plenty of parking.
I'll come here again to try more on the menu.
Update: Came back here with the kids for the döner burger. Supremely delicious, home made round bread filled with chicken and fresh veggies. Huge portionsize. Highly...
Read moreGerman restaurant attached to the hotel. It has been open for a short time and is very clean. The first floor is open air and the second floor has a smaller air conditioned room; there is quite a bit of space on the second floor, so I suspect they plan to add more tables as the number of customers increases.
The beverage selection is quite extensive. They have German draft beer, which is reasonably priced and tasty.
There is a large variety of food, but the prices are a bit high. The food we ordered was very good. Would like to see more small plates on the menu for one person, as they only have large plates of cheese, ham, and other hors d'oeuvres.
The service was excellent and I would go back to this...
Read moreI've eaten in Bavaria and German restaurants in other countries so had high hopes
To be honest, they weren't met to 5* level. Nice beer, service was ok, food promised lots and had good flavour But my cordon bleu pork was overcooked and dry sadly. I was hungry and it was edible so didn't send it back
In any event nobody asked us how the food was, again, a shame
Outside of Manila it's still a Filipino Chef 'thing' to overcook meat, traditionally, but I'm not sure sure where the chef was from. More disappointing if it was an authentic German chef tbh
My friend's schnitzel was nice so maybe I was just unlucky. Perhaps so 😌
Pork loin is easy to overcook but it needs to be tender...
