Cabalen SM City Bacolod — Restaurant in Bacolod

I came one evening with two others. Although there were no other people inside, we thought it was just a slow evening. The place was clean and organized, as I’ve seen in other Cabalen in Manila. As we started taking food, I realized soon enough that the food was very different from Cabalen I tried before - the tilapia tasted like it was refried a couple of times already; the dinuguan tasted old, dry and additional sauce or sabaw was added just to make it look fresh, so it just tasted like vinegar; the chicken afritada was also dry and bland, maybe also because it’s old. The iced tea was diluted. Only the pritchon looked newly prepared, and the melon drink was ok.

There were several staff but they were all at the back, no one was checking on us or on the food if they needed to be refilled or if they’re still ok. For almost P500 per head, it was really a bad experience

Cabalen serves eat all you can Kapampangan cuisine all day long. It is located at the mall so it's very convenient for everyone. Price is okay. Problem is, a lot of their dishes are very rich, flavorful, and oily--just the way it should be, so people with health problems should eat sparingly. But I like it that their food is flavorful and for the price that you are paying, it's worth it. It's just not worth for my kids who eat...
