Dear Sir/Madam: Good day! This is to inform you of the experiences, concerns and observations that we have from our Mother's Day celebration in your restaurant. (SM Bacolod)
We fall in line because the restaurant won't accept reservations. During the process, some people got cut because the one that's making people line outside cannot remember the group of people that she signed up on the lists. It was Mother's Day so it was really very busy, understandably so.
There was this huge poster of best mom special with Halo- halo and such. We lined up because of that. Also, I like the halo- halo in that place and thought it would be a special treat to my mom. Before, falling in line I ask the lady in charge if it is available and she answered we have to find out for ourselves when we're inside already and all settled but she wanted to take our orders first. So we gave our orders, it was bagnet chips, crispy pata family, pinakbet, squid sisig packaged on the menu, I got that because there's a lot of people on the line. I am very specific that we really wanted the halo-halo, she said she'll confirm and will get back later.
We waited in line, got our turn and reminded the lady again if the halo-halo is available. She said we needed to settle ourselves first and told us to inform the ones that's in charge for taking our orders.
It was fast, most of our orders arrived in time, when were in line the lady also remind us that our orders are being cooked while we were waiting in line so we can't cancel. I reminded the staff that we have ordered halo-halo, then they told us that it was not available. Now, if it is a marketing strategy it was very DISHONEST. The food was already at the table, was prayed over, every one started eating and the staff was apologetic because they can't serve it anymore.
We continued to eat and instead of getting halo-halo they recommended the ube milkshake. It was so-so. It was not satisfying just not in league with the halo-halo specials that they have. Our order also comes with leche flan and very late we were served coffee jelly. We did not order that, so I informed one of the servers then he told us that it was not available so the coffee jelly was a substitute. We were not informed of this before hand, another dishonesty. Despite that we ordered additional rice because a platter of rice was not enough for the dishes served.
We continued on eating, then the child in the next table about three or four maybe, he's not in a high chair so he was running around while eating and he puke his guts in the middle of the busy room. The puke was all over the floor and was not cleaned up immediately, he was also making the gagging sounds. They put a caution sign in it. It was there for a while because the restaurant was so full.
Meanwhile, we were talking and waiting for the platter of rice to be served, we still got a lot of crispy pata left. Then, one of the servers asks us if we wanted to bill out. So we informed them of the additional order. We are still in the middle of a meal that was stalled because of the slow service, but we are already being ask to leave, this is the last straw for my mother.
This whole Mother's Day celebration specials that you have, you just don't have it, you can't accommodate everyone. The quality and vibe was given up for quantity. The whole experience, was an opportunity for you to take our money without giving out good service. My mother and her friend who was also another mother was both upset, of the whole ordeal.
You have good food, really bad service. And although the interior was posh when it got puke on it then it will make you puke out what you've been eating too. Very dishonest. The experience was not...

From the moment we arrived with a person with disability (PWD) in our party, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and ease.
We were immediately and thoughtfully assigned a table that provided ample space and accessibility, demonstrating a genuine understanding of our needs. This proactive approach immediately put us at ease and allowed us to focus on enjoying our meal. Beyond the thoughtful seating arrangement, the attentiveness and warmth of the entire team were remarkable. They were patient, understanding, and readily available to assist without being intrusive. Their genuine smiles and willingness to accommodate any requests made us feel truly valued as guests. It's clear that the Restaurant fosters a culture of inclusivity and empathy among its staff.
Of course, the food itself was also a highlight. Their selection of Filipino dishes was flavorful and authentic. Each bite was a testament to the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines, and we thoroughly enjoyed sampling their pork sinigang. The quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation were evident in every plate.
However, it was the exceptional service, particularly their considerate approach towards our companion with a disability, that truly made this dining experience memorable. Kuya J Restaurant has not only mastered the art of Filipino cooking but has also created a welcoming and inclusive environment for all its patrons.
We left trestaurantant feeling full, satisfied, and deeply appreciative of the kindness and professionalism shown by the entire crew. We highly recommend this restaurant not only for its delicious Filipino food but also for its outstanding service that truly makes everyone feel welcome and cared for. We will certainly...
Read moreIf I only I could give half of a star as a rating. The day was the biggest day of my life, and choosing Kuya J's restaurant in Bacolod City for our dinner was the biggest mistake I did.
We ordered, of course, and then they forgot about us. It took them more than an hour to come to us. They asked about our orders again since they forgot about it.
And again, it took them a lot of time to tell us that some of our orders are not available. Why? It's because they forgot about us. All of their ingredients were used up already.
Moreover, after they gave our meals, they did not disappoint to anger us even more, they forgot about the two dishes we ordered.
For our dessert, which was halo-halo. We told them that we wanted the solo only, but they gave us the regular ones. Before that, I had to tell the staff that we ordered halo-halo. OF COURSE THEY FORGOT AGAIN.
We asked them why we got regular instead of solo and they said that the solo ones are not available. WHY DID THEY NOT TELL US ABOUT THAT 2 HOURS AGO? WE WAITED FOR HOURS AND YOU GAVE US VERY WRONG ORDERS.
TO OTHER CONSUMERS, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO KUYA J...
