The Food: It's actually pretty good and the price really depends on the item you choose; huge variety of meals including vegetarian (not vegan) options that are also available, but for meat lovers like me, it's worth a shot. However, large menu means a bit more difficult to choose and some of them are similar tasting with a different price range. Nonetheless, great food, fills you up just right!
The Service: It depends really on who will serve you, and to keep it short, ordering is faster than leaving. When we come, the servers are there, ready to take your order at any moment, but when you're ready to bill out, it's difficult to find someone to assist you, for some reason. The food comes at an average of ~20-30 minutes, which is not bad, unless you're starving. And one of the most notable things (which is blatantly stated on the menu) is the service charge; understandable, but quite unusual, especially here in the Philippines.
The Atmosphere: Just go there and see for yourself :) Anyway, ambience is good; al fresco dining, view of Wright Park, and since the place feels kinda romantic, the best time to visit is in the evening, and of course they also have a live band late at night (~ 9-10 PM). And while the band is not there, there's subtle music to listen to; just loud enough for you to enjoy and talk with the people around you.
TL;DR - visit,...
Read moreI always patronized pizza volante because of its accessibility. The Session rd branch is open 24hrs. The Wright Park branch is near my house. So, I can say that I almost memorized the fluctuations and increases in their prices (because I'm price conscious). The breakfast, for example, used to be like 98, then 102, 122,... and now 175. Also coffee with refill started at 39 pesos, and now around 65? Inflation is real. Today, I went there again and my friend was very disappointed with his smoked salmon omelet. The tiny slice of salmon wrapped with the omelet was not properly smoked, it was very plain looking, not tasty, and very expensive for its low quality. He said that turo-turo food even tastes better. My 'breakfast' order is same as usual but it used to come with one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber. Today, however, if you look closely at the pictures, both our orders are only decorated with rotting parsley! They don't even care to remove the rotting parts. I chose corsican rice but I was given garlic rice🙄. The only thing better today than other times was the coffee. I used to notice and complain about their coffee where the coffee beans were overused, but today...
Read moreDined here with my family during our visit to Baguio City. We were on our way to The Mansion when we decided to have lunch. My mom suggested we just have some pizza at Shakey's but I was Pizza Volante nearby and decided ro try them instead.
Looking back, that was a big mistake. Okay, so the ambience may be good and the staff are accommodating but those are the only redeeming qualities of this restaurant.
The food is terrible. We ordered their lentil soup to get us started while we wait for the pizza and pasta and it turned out to be flavorless. Not one among our group of diners managed to finish their lentil soup. Then the pasta arrived and there was very little sauce and the noodles was overcooked.
As for their pizza, the crust was more like bread and it was soft and undercooked. The toppings didn't seem fresh especially their tuna pizza. In fact, their tuna smelled and tasted a little funky.
I debated on whether I'm going have the dishes returned - especially the pizza - but decided not to do it. I should have done it anyway because considering the price that we paid for our meal, we deserved so much better.
I won't be returning to this establishment. Not...
