I hate this place to the bones. This place sucks, and is the epitome of the worst. Please think about closing. You have plenty of employees but I don’t think they were effective nor properly informed of your policies. My blood was boiling every step of my transaction with them. Called at 2:30pm to place a pick-up order. We came from Mt. Pulag, and we just begged our tour guide and driver (who has another trip to Mt. Pinatubo) to drop by this restaurant to pick up the food. The staff I talked to and I agreed to pay upon pick-up just to learn when we arrived that the order wasn’t placed because they have a pay-first policy. The other staff member claimed that the staff I talked with was a new employee. We haven’t received a call to which they claimed they did. Maybe, the signal coming down from Pulag was to blame but I didn’t even get a text. What’s unacceptable though was employees were just chit chatting and using their phones in front of us. A text saying we need to pay online was all I needed to send the payment when “we didn’t answer the call.” On top of that… be ready. Their bathroom didn’t have toilet paper nor bidet. Guess what I had to do… (Hint: the sink wasn’t that high) The food was delayed twice. Initially, 35 min wait but I said we can’t do it so they prioritized us and said to wait 5-10 min; then after 10 min, they said 5-10 min more because the pizza was “in the oven,” then we had to wait 5-10 min more totaling to around 25 min wait. :) We got a missing item on the order which was the 16-inch 5 Cheese pizza. It was no problem if it was just a drink or even pasta but no, it was the biggest pizza they can offer. Nakakaawa naman yung mga kakain no? The food was not even hot. Lasly, but not certainly the least, THEY CHARGE SERVICE FEE FOR PICK-UP OR TAKE OUT. This is the only restaurant I’ve encountered that does this. I live in the US and I recently came from round the Europe trip and never once I heard of this. Why??? Did your chit chatting and phone using staff served us on top of the worst customer service we received?

I am no ignorant with hospitality and customer services. We own resorts, pavilion and catering services, so I don’t just spat out rants. I worked all around (cleaned, decorated, cooked, waited, bussed, etc.) every event and made sure everything was flawless, so it’s a shame how poor the quality of service is.

P.S. I paid P3,400 and was expecting P26 change. According to my boyfriend, who received the change, he got P400+, explaining the change for the missing item, but then asked P800+ for the missing item order to be placed. Your employees lack professionalism and tact. One of them even tried to interrupt me when I was talking to the manager. Binaliw...

I am writing this review to share my experience with Grumpy Joe Gibraltar branch last night (6 Jan). Years ago when I used to live here in the city, I remember going to the old branch along Leonard Wood Rd and having a great time. Last night was different, it was a disappointment and very unfortunate.

Arriving at the restaurant, we were greeted by staff/receptionist and was asked about the number of people dining in, willingness to wait as they are very busy and we already saw a couple of people waiting to be seated, contact number and surprisingly the receptionist asked us where we are from. I answered the questions without anything in mind but started putting things together after we left the place.

We arrived at around 8 in the evening and was seated after 30 minutes. When we sat on the the table, there was also a group of three who sat to the table next to us (they look like tourists to me). As soon as they were seated a waiter approached them and got their orders, they were also given plates and cutleries thereafter. Whilts this was happening I was hoping someone would come to our table and ask for our orders but minutes went by and no one came until I have to call for one of the waiters serving the other table.

Our order was taken and we waited again for roughly 20-30 minutes. When the food arrived, we were not yet given plates or cutleries, and I did have to ask for them to bring us some. Personally, I was very hungry but lost my appetite because the service I experienced at that time. We barely ate and just ask for takeaway containers, paid the bill and left.

I was very disappointed with the service, it affected how I felt about the food but I must say serving is still the same as I remember though I barely remember if it was the same taste.I felt very unfortunate to experience such kind of service, I felt like we were treated poorly because we are locals ( maybe that’s why they asked about where we are from, because that would decide how they will prioritize customers? ). I understand that it was a busy time for them, it was Saturday night after all and things doesn’t always work out as we would like it to be. However, it is not acceptable to be treated unfairly. Customers should be treated equally regardless if they are...

I was very excited to try Grumpy Joe for the first time, I guess the experience was underwhelming. Service was really really slow, we had to ask water three times before it was served. Food was served without the utensils yet, so we had to ask again. There were vacant tables so I was somehow expecting service will be fast, but I noticed they have a lot of grab and takeout orders too. They need to consider adding more staff.

Upon ordering the staff who took our order was coughing all the time, she should’ve worn a mask considering they are serving food. I decided to give only 1 star to their service because of how they also wrapped our takeout. Imagine the burger was wrapped all together with the fries? Mind you when the staff lifted the burger (half was left) to wrap it, it slid down to the table. What he did was took the burger that’s now facing down, and wrapped it together with the fries and the pieces of the burger left on the plate.

We ordered Truffle pasta which was good, serving was huge although I did not like the butter bread it tasted processed like that of Gardenia. Burger patty was savory, tasted good but seems overpriced for its serving. We also ordered April’s Greek Salad and it was fresh, dressing complimented well. However for the Grumpy Joe Pizza and Spicy Mexican, I would not order them again, it’s not worth the price. It just didn’t justice given the price and the size, it lacked flavor or maybe the combination of the toppings were simply not that good, could be better.

I was to order cheesecake but the text table said it was too sweet that she could not even taste the cheesecake.

Atmosphere could be better, they can play music perhaps to alleviate the customer’s uneasiness due to the long serving time.

Maybe I will try another branch and order a different dish but definitely not their pizza. Even the bill out took...

We ordered a few things from their menu during our dine in. The baked parmesan wings platter we had was a good crispy chicken with coleslaw and garlic aioli dip on the side. The aioli dip for me was a bit sweet which is not for me but the coleslaw was tasty and I have noticed the use of fresh fruits and vegetables. The spicy quesadilla we ordered was not what we expected, but in a good way. We were usee to quesadillas being a panini looking but what they served was large and can be good for four people. The spices used were really flavourful making the dish taste good. For the drinks, the Lemon Lime Iced tea was refreshing while the Grumpy Joe Iced tea (I think) was sweeter and has more flavours so it's best to stir completely to be able to mix everything together. The service they had was pretty organized especially when receiving customers. They will get your contact details, provide a menu and remind you of their two-hour policy which includes the waiting time for your order. We went on a Saturday morning which was not busy and the waiting time took about 20-30 minutes for everything. I'm not really sure when the restaurant is packed. Just be aware when seating near the entrance, staff may take a while. The atmosphere of the place is not what you expect for Grumpy Joe because it is different from their original location. It is more quiet and relaxing. They have parking spaces that can accommodate several cars and parking attendants are also present. Just be aware that the parking space is a bit high for smaller vehicles.

Grumpy Joe has become a go-to restaurant in Baguio City for those seeking comforting American and Italian-inspired dishes. Conveniently located on Gibraltar Road, just a five-minute drive from Mines View Park, it attracts both locals and tourists alike. However, parking can be limited, so plan accordingly. Payments are accepted in cash or via bank transfer (BPI). Great Food and Generous Portions: Grumpy Joe's menu offers a wide range of comfort food classics, such as burgers, pasta, and their famous pizzas. The dishes are generously portioned, making them perfect for sharing with groups or families. Atmosphere: The interior of Grumpy Joe is warm and inviting, with a rustic design that complements the cool Baguio weather. The ambiance is casual and laid-back, providing a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. The friendly staff and quick service add to the pleasant dining experience. However, the wooden floors can shake a bit when groups of people walk by, so it's best to avoid sitting in busier areas, such as near the counter, to fully enjoy the meal in comfort. Price: Grumpy Joe is also known for its affordability. Despite the generous portions and quality of the food, prices are reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Whether you're a budget traveler or simply looking for a satisfying meal without spending too much, Grumpy Joe is a great choice.
