We booked this hotel because of its good reviews and seemingly good facilities and services. But we experienced the opposite. When we arrived at the place, there was no one in the reception area -- although we were assisted right away by the manager (there was no available front desk staff at that time). We had a smooth experience during the first night, except for the ceiling fans in all three floors (we booked the double room which was good for 6 pax) There were designated remote controls but all of which were not working -- the fans were operational but we cannot change the speed nor turn it off; one of the fans was annoyingly squeaky. Since we arrived late on our first day (we came from Manila and we were all tired from such long travel), we tried to sleep it off and reported the same the next day (room phone was non-operational and no staff in sight). The next day, we reported our concerns to the manager AND two (2) staff on separate instances (but there was no action from their end), particularly: non operational ceiling fans remote control (fans were in full speed); squeaky fan in second floor; no doormats in second and third floor rooms Aside from said concerns, we also noticed the following: foul smell from first floor CR (smells like sewage) no inhouse maintenance (on our 3rd day BEFORE MIDNIGHT, my mom scolded the staff as she cannot sleep due to unresolved issues on the ceiling fan (too cold and squeaky), the staff called an electrician who said that he is not an inhouse personnel and in order to address the issue, he simply cut wires connected to the fan, so they just provided us with a stand fan. FYI, when we first raised this concern, staff even told us that they have no idea how to turn it off and that this issue has also been an issue with other guests (once they open the breaker of the room, there is simply no way for us/them to turn it off - how dangerous is that?) damaged door knob (kept on falling, this is likewise dangerous esp. for groups with kids as the door knob is heavy steel) the included breakfast costs roughly 200+/per person, for that amount we expected a decent meal but what was served to us were very limited breakfast choices, canned good and seemingly uncooked viand, since it was served cold; on our last day, we opted not to eat here and the manager agreed to reimburse the breakfast meal costs but never did. To cut the story short, this place is far from being a "hotel". Mind you, this place is not cheap. If you're looking for a place that will offer superb and hassle-free experience, this is...
Read moreBooked a room via Agoda originally for 6pax even if there were only 5 of us. We have a senior and PWD with us and cannot climb stairs. The unit (the place is not a typical hotel with rooms but like an apartment compound) had 3 floors with no room on the ground floor. The only unit that would conveniently accommodate our PWD family member was a unit for 8 so we were made to upgrade for an additional 3k which we had to pay on the spot plus another 3k deposit.
Things to note based on our overnight stay:
not PWD accessible for units for 6 since no bedroom in the ground floor no one will assist you with your stuff, we had to carry ours ourselves WIFI is not working, we had to use hotspot to watch netflix, mobile signal weak in most areas in the unit no A/C but they have big ceiling fans so it's okay I guess since it was cold when we were there no place to cook, they only provide microwave, oven toaster, electric kettle and a small fridge. They do have utensils you can use like plates, spoon and fork, pitcher, drinking glasses and coffee mug. They also have sponge and dishwashing liquid provided. heater working well, towels, soap and shampoo available looks like a gated house from outside but when you see the signage, honk your horn so the guard will open the gate for you. Entrance to the units is quite steep but manageable. parking space available (basement) they provide water in gallon containers windows were quite dusty, need to improve cleanliness on that part but unit overall is nice since they just opened April this year as per staff. my favorite would have to be the bed and pillows, fluffy and comfy near the Mansion, Wright park and mines view plus some favorite restos like lemon and olives
All in all, service can be improved. While we understand the extra charge, it would not hurt to be a bit considerate. Be more detailed as well especially on accessibility for PWD and make sure that everything, all features are available and working as advertised,...
