Very nice place located along Outlook Drive. It's a small resto-bar that's adjuct to the bed and breakfast of Baguio Country Club. Food experience detailed below:
Soup of the Day - take on Sopas. Light, flavorful and served piping hot. Loved the fact that you could taste the richness of the broth as normally you'd have an overpowering taste of milk with these types of soups.
Fish and Chips - batter was light, flaky and cooked to golden brown perfection. Chips were standard potato chips, but the tartar sauce served with this dish rounded out the flavors.
Margherita Pizza - flavors as you'd expect, but served with a GENEROUS topping of mozzarella cheese. Clean and light flavor, crust was firm and tasty too.
Breaded Pork Chops - again, like the fish and chips, the hearty pork chop was seasoned well, lightly battered, and fried to golden brown perfection. Gravy was really tasty - but not over salty. Good dish.
Gambas - it was what I expected for Baguio. Frozen shrimps served gambas al ajillo style. The problem with frozen shrimps is that it doesn't absorb the flavors when you saute it - and it doesn't have that shrimp head butter that imparts a lot of flavor into the saute. I'd probably skip ordering this dish the next time I'm back here.
Beef Salpicao - this was the defining dish. Individually, I'd rate this 5-stars. The rich flavor allowed you to lightly taste the Worcestershire sauce, but still allowed the garlic and olives to impart their flavor profiles on the dish itself. Cut of meat was tender - but not soggy soft - so this added to the perfection of this dish in my mind. I will definitely order this again when I am back.
As Baguio is part of our yearly trips, this place impressed me enough that I know this will be a regular place we go to every time we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited this restaurant over the weekend, drawn by the promise of a scenic view overlooking the golf course, and that part, I admit, did not disappoint. The view is beautiful. However, thatās where the positives end.
For an establishment thatās part of a renowned 5-star hotel like Baguio Country Club, the experience fell far below expectations. The customer service was practically nonexistent. Staff members were unresponsive, and we had to approach them for every question and order, a far cry from what one would expect from a 5-star service standard.
The ambiance was equally underwhelming. The interiors are outdated and in dire need of aesthetic improvement. Itās hard to believe this place is part of such a prestigious hotel, nothing about it felt premium.
I also ordered their halo-halo, and unfortunately, it was the worst Iāve ever had. Even fast-food versions from Chowking or Mang Inasal offer better quality. The dessert was filled almost entirely with different colors of nata de coco only, likely from supermarket jars, and lacked the essential ingredients that make halo-halo enjoyable, no banana, no leche flan, no ube, no sweet potato. It was overly watery, with sugar syrup, and even the milk couldnāt save it. I refused to pay for it, and to their credit, the staff acknowledged that it wasnāt their best.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience that didnāt live up to the standards one would expect from a 5-star hotel...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is by far the most elitist and discriminatory restaurant in Baguio. We went there wearing proper clothes, but since we had a long drive from Sagada, we were of course wearing closed slip-ons. They said they wonāt allow us to eat even outside. We donāt want to sound like weāre bragging but we werenāt wearing cheap clothes, nor were our slip ons cheap, from head to toe, they saw us wearing branded clothes (Iām sorry if that sounded so much like bragging but this experience really makes me pissed!) AND EVEN IF WE DID WEAR CHEAP CLOTHES, our slip ons were closed! This restaurantās priority is aesthetics, not good food, not good service. What a traumatic experience going into this restaurant. I know the ordinance about dress code is there and placed, but we were actually wearing closed slip ons, no sleeveless, etc. I donāt know maybe they just donāt want us there, maybe we looked too haggard for their restaurant because we drove 6 hours from Sagada. Donāt come here if you donāt want to experience such discrimination. The guard even told us that the restaurant is only for ārich peopleā and in our heads, they saw us getting off a luxury car. Iām sorry, this restaurant was a bad experience. I will not recommend this experience to anyone. Donāt come here. You wonāt feel served, you will feed discriminated and...
