Manila Foodshoppe — Restaurant in Cebu City

When visiting Manila Foodshoppe on Escario in Cebu City, I ordered 3 items for my own personal consumption, which (as a senior) qualifies me for a 20% discount plus free of taxes. My order came to 584p including tax. The discount I was given was 34p, which is 5.8%. Their excuse was that each item was enough for 5 individuals. Total nonsense. Maybe if those individuals were only 3 pr 4 years old. When I arrived home with my purchase, I ate everything I purchased but for a little bit of the noodles, which I found to taste poorly. The amount of food was adequate for one meal and I certainly was not stuffed. In fact I even had some desert after eating my main course. I am an average sized individual and do not over eat. The amount I purchased was equivalent to what I would order in any sit down restaurant. It's clear that what Manila Foodshoppe is doing is understating the portion size so they won't need to extend the appropriate required discount to seniors. Shame on you Manila Foodshoppe. I...

awful service.. went inside around 2:30pm today (oct 23, 2017) went straight to the cashier since i have a list of items in mind for takeout already. tried to call the attention of one of the personnel but nobody entertained me, even though there was not a lot of people in the restaurant. there were many vacant tables. so i went and sat down one of the tables and waited to be entertained/served. still nobody. AFTER 20 mins, i went to the cashier to get the menu myself. when they saw me get the menu and scanned it, that's the only time someone came to me to take my order. after taking my order, they didn't give me heads up on how many minutes it would take... i went back to the cashier to pay, and after taking my money, she just placed the receipt on the table, i had to make sure that it was my receipt and i took it. she didn't hand it directly to me i waited for more than an hour for my take out food...

The food is great but their service can be so much better. It takes the staff too long to serve an order. We've tried to order take out three times and they usually set a 15 to 20 minutes wait time. Of the two times we visited the store, we were made to wait for nearly an hour. We decided to call in to have the food picked up at a certain time. When we arrived to pick it up, it took them another 45 minutes to prepare the order. I'm not sure what the hold up is or why it takes them too long to complete an order but they should work on setting the right expectations to their customers.

With that being said, I don't recommend this restaurant if you are expecting good customer service, if you are in a hurry, if you have an appointment in an hour, and if...
