OYO 187 The Maxwell Hotel — Hotel in Cebu City

The hotel is great! It is accessible to almost all major establishments in the city. The rooms are spacious and clean. Rates are affordable. Perhaps the only two things that need attention would be the internet connection and the lift. I've stayed there twice, and there's always an excuse as to why the internet is down. First, they said they have not fully recovered from the onslaught of Odette even though internet was up along that strip of road. Nonetheless, I didn't complain. Second incident, there was a "power interruption" the day before and it caused "for some reason" the internet to remain down after the power has come back. I didn't get that part.

Now the elevator--how do you expect to go up if your room is in the 4th floor? Elevator! But the elevator is not operational. Stairs! T_T

I booked the room via Agoda and stayed for 3 nights. Upon check in, they asked for 1,500 as deposit and returned it upon check out. It was big enough for 2 people and the whole space is clean. Wifi, TV, closet, toiletries, towels and complimentary bottled waters were available. Housekeeping were present if you wanted them to clean your room while you’re out. They also replenished the free stuff. The bed was also comfy and warm. However, the water pressure was disappointing from the toilet, sink and the shower. It could have been better. Also, it was quite uncomfortable that the window was facing the lounge of the 2nd floor and the only thing that’s making the room private was the curtain. AC is damn old. Unable to maintain room temperature during day time especially in the afternoon. Room is situated on a direct sunlight with a full glass window (adds high temperature). Not even using block out curtain. Raised a complained and was given a stand fan only. Idk if that was a compensation or whatnot, did not get an apology nor showing hospitable. Front desk during check-in failed to welcome/attend to me immediately, probably 6-8 people busy talking with each other. Old building. TOILET DO NOT FLUSH EASILY. For the price I paid was 50/50.
