As they say, go where you see a beeline outside the place. Chances are its good, if not the best. This no-frills place serves what the local says authentic Visayan fare. Once tasted, you'll always want to go back every single day. What is world's apart from other mainstream so-called Filipino restaurants is Maranatha's vegetable dishes are pure vegan. No meat nor lard is ever used in the cooking (I could smell lard from afar), no MSG definitely, and it tastes fresh, every single day!! And the quantity of choices is more than the meat dishes, something you will never find in any local eatery.
It's a vegan/vegetarian's haven indeed.
Their vegetable soup, "otan bisaya" is extermely good and satisfying, always gives my immune system its daily boost of nutrients.
This place, managed by middle aged ladies, deserves all the praise and support it can get. Their faith is clearly displayed on the walls and the music they play...
Read moreThis is my favorite food place in entire Cebu! No matter if breakfast, lunch or dinner, they serve the best tasting food I could find in the Philippines. For months I've been going there twice a day at least and I will never get tired of their amazing food. It is even better than my grandma's food and that's the biggest compliment I could give. Staff is super friendly and you always find an option, no matter if you eat meat, fish or a vegan/vegetarian. Their food and especially the vegetable are rich in taste. And it is also very cheap so this is why I would recommend this to everyone, want to have a real Filipino food...

In the world, there is two types of people : The one who understand that Maranatha Kitchenette is a local kitchen to eat for a local price. And other one who complain like the previous review, saying false things (I'm vegetarian and it was easy to find vegetables and soup) and trying to take down a wonderful place to eat.
