A Mixed Experience at Bird Seed Breakfast Club + Cafe I recently visited Bird Seed Breakfast Club Plus Cafe, and I must say, the restaurant itself was quite nice looking, offering a pleasant atmosphere. Upon ordering, it took about 30 minutes to receive my food, which was perfectly acceptable. For my meal, I ordered the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The presentation of the dish was absolutely stunning—a perfect 10/10! The wilted spinach mixed with the Hollandaise sauce added a lovely touch to the plate. The Hollandaise itself had a delightful tangy flavor that really stood out. While the visual appeal was top-notch, the execution of the eggs themselves left something to be desired, as they were unfortunately undercooked and incredibly cold. They were as cold as if they'd come straight from the refrigerator, making them completely unpalatable and inedible as served. It put me in mind of a sunny-side-up poached egg, if there is such a thing. It's a shame, because I can imagine that with properly cooked eggs, this dish would have been truly enjoyable, likely a 6 or 7 out of 10. I also ordered a cappuccino, which turned out to be more of a very strong coffee. It was good, but it didn't quite hit the spot as a true cappuccino. A Note on Dining in the Philippines For those dining in the Philippines, it's worth noting that complaining about food is generally not well-received. From my experience, it's often better to simply move on and, if necessary, share your feedback discreetly, perhaps through a review, rather than confronting staff directly. The cafe clearly has an eye for presentation and good flavors in...
Read moreOrdered Caesar salad with chicken and a pesto bacon tomato "PBT" sandwhich with iced cafe mocha tonight. I have to say, this was the worst iced cafe mocha I've ever had. I think they use baking mocha powder for their cafe mocha or something. Very bitter and horrible. I should have walked around the corner to Starbucks. The caesar salad came with 2 sauces, one tasted like mayonnaise and the other tasted like fish. Came with no real caesar dressing. My caesar salad ended up being a plain salad with no dressing. Again - horrible. The PBT had way too much pesto and couldn't taste the bacon. The bread seemed to be covered with flour. Not good too. Then, what really made the whole experience worse for me was, the owner was there and appeared very pompous and condescending to both the staff and her customers. She sized us up as we walked through the door as if she was trying to figure out if we had money or not. She belittled her employees and scolded them in front of the customers as if that was her only purpose for existence. She could use a lesson on leadership and how to treat people. She should focus her attention on making better food and coffee, lead by example and kindness instead of through scolding and fear. I'm very disappointed in myself for not saying something to her in person when I was there. She should not speak and act that way especially in front of customers. It's bad business, unprofessional and very bad leadership. I will not be visiting this place again. Food, coffee and owner's behavior was substandard, I expected much better...
Read moreThe experience was all sorts of horrible. The service was slow and the food was passable-if-you’re-hungry at best.
We arrived at 9:30am, food was served at 10:30am. The food was served one dish at a time in 15-20 min intervals instead of altogether. So we took turns watching each other eat instead of being able to enjoy the meal together.
It’s also worth mentioning that there was only one other table occupied the whole time we were there. We had to wait for each of their orders to be served before they started bringing out ours.
I ordered an Iced Chocolate for my 3 year old, but was instead served an Iced Mocha! Who serves coffee to a 3 year old?!
They replaced it with Iced Chocolate which was hurriedly made and still had clumps of cocoa powder in it. It was gross. My toddler, who is usually very easy to please, would have none of it.
My Eggs Benedict was served with lettuce instead of the wilted spinach that was described in the menu. Lettuce has a very bland flavor profile, the addition of which resulted in a tasteless dish. All i could taste was the water from the lettuce stem. Not even the hollandaise could save it. How was this substitution even deemed acceptable?! I doubt that anyone even tried it before authorizing the substitution.
The eggs in the baconsilog were overcooked. Even something as simple as this was executed poorly.
Would only recommend this place to those who are willing to wait at least an hour to be fed or have exceptionally...
