I loved the ambience and the views (when high-tide), but the food is not really that good considering the price. (Price-wise, this is the norm in Malapascua.) Since we stayed at Tepanee, and Amihan was one of its two restaurants, we dined here several times. The first time was for dinner on our arrival date. Since the place was crowded and noisy - it was a Sunday - I opted to have my food packed. I had Risotto salsiccia e spinaci (Italian rice with sausages and spinach) and 4 stagioni (Tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, mushrooms, artichokes, and olives). The risotto was bland, but the pizza was good. The following night, I ordered Spaghetti alla carbonara (smoked bacon cooked in white wine, eggs, pecorino cheese, lots of black pepper) and Pollo al curry (chicken in curry sauce with potatoes, carrots, and okra, served with rice) for take-out. Both were again bland, and the potatoes were undercooked. The chicken was overcooked, its meat tough. After the above experience, I opted to eat out of Tepanee, but I did come back to Amihan for breakfast. The menu is the same as Chiringuito's, with an additional selection of pastries. I had bacon with omelet and pancake with Nutella. It was good. The pastries were tasty, too. Service-wise, the staff were friendly, though they do take a long time to deliver the food.

Sitting on the cliff with a beautiful view overlooking the beach is no doubt very enjoyable. But the quality of foods and drinks leaves a lot to desire. And I guess it's the most expensive restaurant on the island? Won't hurt to dine out as a tourist, but, going to the market you can have a delicious seafood meal at half the price! To the owner: Right, I didn't try all the foods on your "over a hundred dishes menu". All I know is basically all the food we ordered were unappealingly bland, including the drinks! Don't try to shift the problems to "a cheap customer complainting about the price". I don't care about your price, it's darn cheap compared to the Italian restaurants that I usually go to in my home town. The fact is, I compared your seafoods to those in the market and they are much more delicious than yours! You should be ashamed claiming yours as an authentic Italian restaurant yet serving inferior seafoods than those stalls at double the prices. And I, as a customer, have no obligations to help you to improve your food! I original gave 2 stars, now I got to strip one more because of your "blame the customers" attitude.

Totally disappointed based on the high rating this restaurant had. Let's start with the good sides it's lovely placed atop a hill overlooking the bay and is reasonably well decorated to a good standard. The service was ok, the mains didn't arrive together and had to walk to the bar to ask for the bill but other than they were polite and helpful. The food and drinks completely disappointed us, the cocktails, we ordered daiquiris, were sour and didn't have much taste to them put that with small glass and relatively high price not good. For starters we had liempos - ok served with ketchup and the hummus & babaganoush combo which didn't taste anywhere near what they are supposed to and generally not very good. For mains we had the squid and curry, both were lacking the taste and seasoning, the salad came without any dressing at all and ohh the chips are actual chips/crisps so we had a squid with potato chips (and not the British.style chips :D)

Talking about my own experience and my own food. I had bad luck choosing my dish, but I don't think you need a few times in a restaurant like this one, to find the good luck on the menu... The location of the place is magic, very green around and facing the water. During the day you'll enjoy amazing views. I came here with big expectations of enjoying probably my best meal in Malapascua... but I left this place very disappointed (I had to order some bread to feel satisfied) I had this risotto di nero di seppia, before writting this I've seen negative reviews about it, so I don't understand why they still don't improve it! NO taste, NO squid (3 ridiculously small pieces), and the portion... it was like a joke. The other dishes were fine, but nothing excellent as I expected. l came here with a group of friends who know the owners, thats why i didn't want to complain about my food, cause they seem very nice and we were having a good time. Try to make all your dishes good, no just some of them, make sure the client is gonna finish satisfied and no hungry, i missed some wellcome bread you have a delicious oil to make the wait more pleasant... and take care of the food cause apparently is not like in...
