Selection of veggies, fruits and snacks and the local market. Everyone around the market and working the market are very friendly, helpful and just genuinely nice people. They'll even order things for you and have it delivered to the island within a day or two.

Lots and lots of BBQ stands in the middle of the market place. Just be mindful that the meat and seafood is NOT on ice and in some cases has been on display a number of hours. Best to check the colour of the meat and the smell. If the meat is fresh, it's otherwise tasty BBQ.

No public toilets either and it's rather loud given there are four open karaoke bars that try to outdo each other for decibels...hence...

Good spot for Keto dieting as you are able to pick out your own dishes and not have to deal with the confused waitresses at the resort restaurants when you to tell them you don’t want rice. We picked dishes from 4 different restaurants and had them cooked fresh. Today we had pork liempo, a beef and veggie kabob, grilled shrimp and a fresh coconut. For less than $5.00 usd. Yes I understand not completely keto but hey I am on vacation and if I wanted to I could get cream from the stores in this shopping/dining area for my coffee. You wouldn’t believe how many coffee shops were confused when we asked for...

Malapascua's public market comes alive, especially after sunset. The whole area bustles with energy — each stall offering fresh seafood, meats, and a variety of barbecue options that you can order and have cooked on the spot. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s to be expected since many tourists come here specifically to enjoy the food.

The atmosphere is vibrant and relaxed. You can sing your heart out with karaoke, grab a cold beer, and just enjoy laid-back conversations with friends. It’s the perfect place to unwind and experience the local...

Great, great local food market. The first fish stand (believe it belongs to Malapascua divers) when you enter the market from the south beach side run by a small group of women offers Superbe fresh products with excellent and skilful cooking - not an obvious thing on the Philippines! The Slippy Lobster, the Tuna (half grilled, half sashimi!), Rabbit fish and scallops but also the fried Aubergine (Tortang Talong), the Corns, seaweed salad, home made fries were of superb quality! Beers are ex-fridge price of the attached shop. Opens from 10 am till 9pm.

On a budget while you're on malapascua Island? Then mercados would be a good option for you. They offer affordable Filipino rice meals here. Turo-turo which is what they call a Filipino style cafeteria is how I'd describe this place. This place is sort of like a food court as there are plenty of other eateries here as well as mom & pop shops that sell water, soda, alcohol, chips, crackers, and even instant noodles
