As I travel more in the Philippines I find the longer I stay in one place the less money I spend because I eventually find the best deals, restaurants, etc. upon arriving in malapascua I met a guy named Jason, he is one of several " local tour guide, boat Capt, area expert" he was amazing, he even gave me a ride for free when I visited the small local congregation of my church. He found me a good deal on a private taxi back to Cebu, various other deals and his cousin Marybelle is the best professional massage girl on the island.

Everything is perfect. The people are friendly and the beaches are great. It's when you're leaving that makes it a bad experience. You get treated with a non-chalant terminal staff who does not seem to care about cancelled trips. Boats gets cancelled without any apparent replacement and you will be forced to wait for another 30 mins. Maybe foreigners get treated different? Who knows. The rest is close to paradise except for when you're leaving.

It's very dirty and you can barely get into the water, it's very dirty. All of Malapascua is very dirty and you can't get in because of the filth and the hundreds of boats tied up on the beach. You can't even walk on the beach calmly because you have to watch out for the ropes of the boats, the glass bottles, the filth, the cans, and the plastic. VERY, VERY SAD! They should be ashamed to charge an environmental fee!
