I did not stay at the resort, just went for the food and the dishes I tried were worth raving about when I get back to Australia.

FOOD The pasta was incredible!!!! I could taste quality ingredients which was very surprising for a remote island. I truly did not expect to have this quality Italian anywhere in the Philippines, particularly in a little island. Highly recommend the ravioli speck funghi e zafferano (friend’s order) and for the cheese lovers the 4 cheese gnocchi (my order). My friend didn’t enjoy her pizza as much though and she tried our other friends ravioli and ended up ordering this as well. And we also had it the following day. And we talked about it on the boat ride home. YES, it was really that good!

ATMOSPHERE The view overlooking the sand and water was lovely. However, there are cats running around the place so I kept having to switch seats with my friends because I am petrified of cats. It made it a really awkward dining experience. There were dogs also and I love dogs but they would bark every now and then. Some strays and 2 had collars. So if you don’t mind a few animals around pls go and try the food. It’s such a pretty location.

SERVICE Oddly some of the staff genuinely didn’t know what was in the menu. This could be a problem for some diners. I knew exactly what I wanted so didn’t have any issues. Menu had some photos which I...

Set apart from the rest of the hotels in Bounty Beach in Malapascua, Angelina Hotel's semi-secluded location is probably its biggest draw. If you're a family person already, and are not looking to snag a date, you will appreciate Angelina's good location. However, even on an off-season (June 3-5), hotel rates remain high, and the staff do not bend over backwards to keep a customer. (The owner, an Italian was out of the country, and the staff was probably only carrying out instructions from the owner.) There were no free toiletries and hair dryer in the toilet, despite what had been advertised on the web. Their Caruso room has a homey feel, really fantastic, except that the wooden floors are creaky, and the faucet and shower water is SALTY. Yes, salty. Did the water come from the beach???? We stayed in another hotel that was willing to give us a discount because the summer tourists have mostly left (Blue Corals Resort) and the water was not salty at all. So Angelina's plumbing could use an inspection. The staff are attentive to the guests, except that on one occasion they seem to prioritize their foreign clients over their kababayan. At least, that's what I had felt when one morning, over breakfast, a (German?Italian) couple were served their food first, but my son and I came much earlier than they. Hopefully, it does not become a regular...

Pulizia impeccabile, come in tutto l' ambiente.

Local tourist here from Cebu City. 6th visit in the island since year 2014. Spinach pizza was superb. That black pasta was the b0mb! So far they have the best-tasting homemade gelato I have ever tried in my life. I have tried all the flavors except Mango which wasn't available during out 3-day visit. Combination of Cheesecake + Strawberry gelato was my fave. My friends love the pistachio and hazelnut! Best cafe latte too! Only thing we wish to improve is the Filipino breakfast---more selections, please. Was expecting a good brand of corned beef and longganisa to be used for that price. But overall, love the place. Staff were also kind to recommend us the best sellers. Also good to know this restaurant supports animals...you can see it from the healthy animals in the property. Sad to see some comments that they are disturbed with animals on the place---mostly coming from locals or non-animal lovers. I hope customers just let them be. Be sure to come early before 8pm so you can find your table. They will have a cut-off if it's too packed before closing time which makes sense so as not to compromise the service of the existing customers who are waiting for their orders to be served. If there's one restaurant I'd recommend, gotta be Angelinas!

I was in Malapascua for 6 days, and Angelina, by far, had the best food on the island. Loved the location too since it's by the beach, though when low tide, the view wasn't that good. We dined here twice. On our first visit, we ordered Spiedini di carne (BBQ mixed meat on a stick in Italian style), which I requested to be all-chicken and Pizza All 'Amatriciana (tomato, mozzarella, bacon, and pecorino cheese). The barbecue was excellent, the meat cooked just right as it was juicy and tasty. The Pizza was good too. Our second visit was on our last day on the island. (This is the only one that we revisited because of the good food and service.) I ordered the Super Angelina! Pizza. It had tomato, mozzarella, cooked ham, mushrooms, Italian Sausage, salami, and artichokes, served topped with an egg. It was super! No wonder it's their signature and most recommended pizza. Their Italian gelato is good too! While there, I had been getting one every day as it's the perfect cooler for a humid day. Service-wise, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Prepare to wait for your orders when you dine anytime from 12:30-1:30 PM (lunch) and 6:30-730 (dinner). Lastly, I appreciate that Angelina allows pets.

During my stay at the resort next door I regularly came to eat at Angelina's, and the food was always good, especially the gnocchis were very good. But this evening when I ordered a pizza (I had also eaten pizza there a few days before and it was very good) it arrived raw. The dough was really not cooked well inside and I tasted the raw dough after 1 bite. So I asked if they could put it in the oven again and they did. My pizza came back and after 2 bites I realized it was still raw inside. After long hesitation, I did call someone again to fix this problem. Then they made a new pizza and when it came they forgot the salami, and they gave it separately (which was not a problem at all for me). However, this pizza was still raw in the middle. And after 2 pizza points I had had enough. I didn't want to bother a 5th time because I don't think it would have improved. So I then asked and paid the bill and left with another almost full pizza on the table. Very unfortunate because before this incident I would recommend this restaurant to anyone but not anymore. Too bad about the pizza and about the money and also about my appetite.
