Coffeecat — Restaurant in Davao City

We liked the ambiance. Although it's a little hot inside, the place is relaxing and quiet. I ordered carbonara pasta (with Alfredo sauce and bacon). I was asked if I'd like to add grilled chicken. I wanted more bacon in my pasta but it was not an option as an add on so I said yes to the grilled chicken for 60php. It was 300php total.

When it was served my carbonara doesn't have even one bacon tidbit in it. There's only 5 small pieces of grilled chicken I paid for 60php as the add on. When we asked the staff about it, we were told it was either bacon or chicken. I paid for the extra though. The Alfredo sauce tasted good so we just let it go.

The Angry Harry pasta was ok too. It was the quality of the 7-8 small pieces of ham they used that ruined it.

The staff who delivered the order shoved the dish on the other table. Next to our table. I didn't care for it until I saw other reviews on here that say the same thing 😔

Pasta - Good portion...

Food was average. I tried paying with card (other reviews say they accept credit card) but the cashier told me they only accept cash. Weird but ok. I paid for my order with cash at 12:41. They owed me 430 pesos for change but told me they didn't have change yet. They shouldn't accept orders if they are short on change. Other customers came in and ordered their food after me without any problems.

By the time I finished my meal, they still didn't have change for me. The cashier was irritated and ignoring me when I said I have to leave soon. She finally gave me my change after 30 minutes of pestering her.

Located at downtown area, the coffee shop looks spacious and clean, strictly following the guidelines on covid 19 imposed by government. Ambiance is cool, the menu has many choices, they have both indoor and outdoor seating, and is accessible to physically challenged people. The service is not so good for the kind of coffee shop, the staff who attended to us is not welcoming and friendly. I can't imagine her just dropped all three different coffee orders in one table even if I directed her who owns what..it appears to me that she wasn't delighted with our presence. Not a big deal, but in this times of stiff competition in the market, I think that good or exceptional service is essential. We have to always remember also the old phrase "that first...
