This is my first review of a restaurant in the Philippines. The reason I feel compelled to write about my experience is because of how disappointing the service was during a slow lunch time. I've had amazing service while in the Philippines which makes what happened here so puzzling. Maybe it is just this ONE server that is a problem? I don't know. But I do know this was worse service than we receive in the States, and that's saying something. We ordered drinks with our food - coconut water and a juice. We were told the food would take 20-30 minutes to prepare. Okay, that's fine because it is being prepared fresh. But the server NEVER brought our drinks? After 25 minutes, I asked her if we could get our drinks and she was clearly annoyed that we interrupted her conversation with her friends. After receiving our food and eating for over 30 minutes, we had leftovers that we wanted to take away. Unfortunately, our server was sitting outside the restaurant talking with her friends (coworkers). She was unavailable. I had to get up and go outside to ask her for assistance. And none of the other employees, who saw me looking around trying to get her attention, none of them bothered to ask if they could help. This is shocking considering the usual level of service received in the Philippines. I'm writing this review as I wait for the server to finish her conversation and finally help me with take out and to pay the check! How long must I wait for assistance before I can leave? Update: I finally asked another employee for help because my server was still talking with friends. And no, she wasn't on an official break - unless they allow nearly all the employees to break together at the...
Read moreDined here with my family last July 26 when we were on vacation. The service was disappointing, most of the food I tried to order were not available so I decided to wait on what my family ordered to see their serving size as this was the first time I’m eating at Mesa. While waiting for the food they can’t quite get my uncle’s drink request, a simple cold calamansi juice with no sugar but they kept giving him one with sugar (this needs to be fixed especially if a person requests something such as no sugar, what if they’re diabetic but you still keep serving them sugar filled drinks), then they served him hot calamansi juice with no sugar so he asked for a glass with ice which then they took his drink and after a few minutes served him the cold drink. I don’t understand how they kept getting confused by that simple request. Then the food came and this was almost 8pm, after seeing their serving size I ordered another sisig for my brother and I who weren’t there when they placed the order. Then the waitress told us that we can’t order anymore, the kitchen is closed but never informed us of this, never asked us if we have any last orders. It’s very unprofessional. 6 of us shared everything that was ordered 1 small sized caldereta, 1 med sisig, luckily all of us ordered our own rice and the most disappointing part is that the pancit canton wasn’t placed in the order and since kitchen was closed (at 8pm without informing us about last orders) we had to pay our bill. 6 of us shared food like it was petsa de peligro. I also had a knee injury and had so much difficulty walking in their restaurant, the floor...
Read moreIt looks like a good restaurant however it is not well maintained with that I mean that their restroom did not have any hand soap, nor paper towel, and the hand dryer was out of order in addition the place did not have an appealing and welcoming odor as you expect from a restaurant. I guess the staff did not either care much of cleanliness or they lacked traning. Either way they should have a manager who pays attention of such details and guides the crew to leave a good first impression to their customers. I did not try their food because of such impression if they cannot take care of the place then I am not sure if their food can be trusted either. Maybe in the future I will give one more try and see if they...
